I cannot remember where I saw it - either on FB or Insta - but a brief clip of Lisa talking on the phone with Alma popped up somewhere in the last week. As far as I know, it's our first time ever seeing an Alma scene online (unless the clip was ever used in a flashback montage). There really wasn't much to it, but it was something.

Your browser's History file might tell you where.

What happened to Beau and Pam? :( How did they leave the show?

Beau and Pam split up after the stress of his temporarily losing his voice and his career pressures, or something along those lines. Beau and Nella nearly became lovers but ultimately went to California (?) platonically. I think Pam went back home to Boston (?) soon after introducing her con artist father who never really had as much impact as you would expect John Dixon's brother to have.

There is a clip of them delivering the news to Margo at her shower that John "died." But its brief, and I havent seen any others. I get why they cast Deas as he has some of her "manic energy" but he wisely tempered that down and had enough Hughes in him to make it work. I just would love to see if he had any scenes with Wagner, but knowing the Dobsons, they probably didnt write any.

There's also one in Tom's law office. I posted it a while ago but I'm not sure if it is still online or not. I think she was questioning him over why he fired Margo. It was fun and has the type of complicated mother/son dynamics that Tom and Lisa would naturally have (by the time of Gregg's Tom Lisa is more firmly put into the dotty older lady category so it just seems like Tom is tolerating her).

I actually just remembered that it was captioned as being from 11/22/63 - the part of the show that went on after they permanently switched over to Cronkite. I’ve always heard that the full episode existed in very few collections, but I don’t recall ever seeing it. WoST might’ve had it back in the day.

Yes, I saw that scene last week also.  I actually think this may have been Ethel Remey's very first episode as Alma -- the character had previously been played by another actor, Joanna Roos, I believe.  At this point Alma was infrequently seen on the show, as she did not yet live in Oakdale, and her husband (Lisa's father) was still living.  After the husband died, apparently Alma (played by Ms Remey) moved to Oakdale and was possibly a contract role.

I remember that one..thanks for posting it! Agree that Tom and Lisa having a complicated dynamic makes sense (she let the Hughes raise him for a good bit of his youth, kind of like on GL, Shayne and Marah act like their mother was Carol Brady and not Reva...) I can see Deas playing that out, which is why I would like to see any scenes with Wagner. His scenes with Chris are mostly talking law case exposition, but there is a layer or respect and warmth there, which makes sense. Deas Toms' reaction to his iron fisted grandmother would be interesting.

I think Fulton acted her way into the dotty mother role. I thought the Dobson's wrote her correctly, she wasnt the STAR anymore but she was Lisa, and Fulton went over the top with the...eccentric act, to get attention and it kind of stuck.

finally!

finally, cbs sunday morning recognized an actor from a p&g soap in ‘passages.’

of course, had eileen fulton passed away in a week not dominated by so many notable deaths, she might have rated a short clip noting her 50 years on ‘world turns. but given the show’s shameful neglect of other ‘world turns and guiding light  actors — no mention of kathryn hays, elizabeth hubbard, lisa brown or jerry ver dorn — this is something, albeit, long overdue.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad they remembered Eileen, however briefly. Her name should be on the bricks of many CBS buildings.

I've heard this before about Hubbard and Marland.  But I don't quite understand it.  How many soap opera actors get a story that is just about her/him?  I don't even know what that would mean.  Every soap opera plot involves and affects more than one character. Soap characters never exist in isolation.  Maybe Hubbard just didn't realize exactly how good she had it while Marland was in Oakdale.

I think she meant that the majority of her work during Marland's era was about Princess Lily.. and not really about her.

Although, I don't quite agree with that because she and John had a marriage that was pretty front burner and it was interesting seeing two people that love one another and were probably too much alike to be married since both of them were control freaks.

Had Marland not passed.. I think the Neal/Royce story would have been seen through completely and given Lucinda more of a story from her past.

Not the best photo of Eileen out of everything they could choose.

i actually liked it a lot. never seen it before, but i thought it really captured her joie de vivre. having met eileen a few times and talked with her on the phone, looking at it, i can actually hear her voice.
