Here's my question, with Chen, Osborne, and Darlene Conner on this CBS gabfest, who's gonna be the uptight conservative bitch to be the grain of sand in the oyster?

I second that!! Wouldn't it be a treat to end the show where nobody gives a crap and then start at the beginning with the truck moseying down a long and lonely highway with an amnesiac named Dr. Brad Eliot inside of it??

i'd be at your front door with popcorn in hand.

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but what the hell has Darlene Conner done on TV since "Roseanne" and "Sadie & Simpson" (or whatever the heck that Lifetime movie was titled)?? I take it they couldn't get Laurie Metcalf??

Perhaps the token conservative will be Bo Derek??

i'd be at your front door with popcorn in hand.

And I've got the peanut M & M's so come on in!!

She was on ER for a little while and now she's on HawthoRNe on TNT. That's all I can remember off the top of my head. According to IMDB she's worked pretty steady.

The last thing I saw Laurie Metcalf do was a public service commercial for a hunger organization. She seemed far more earnest than Sally Struthers ever dreamed of being. it was kind of odd.

And God help me... but some viewers are actually getting their fix of drama by arguing about soaps on message boards instead of actually watching them.

Good Lord, ain't that the truth... and some will be arguing what could've/would've been some 5 or so years after the last soap (Y&R) airs its final eppy.

What I find odd is that Laurie Metcalf never seemed to shed that neurotic, odd Barney Fife-ish persona after "Jackie," and Metcalf had her baby in 1994. I'd love to see her in a role where she isn't such a whack-job.

I just want a talk show where no one pretends to be objective or polite or courteous or respectful or anything like that.

You know what?

VH1 announces new daytime gab fest

VH1, the network that has become a guilty pleasure by showcasing has-beens and wannabes, will be adding to its brand with the premiere of a new daytime talk show. The network's plans for more mature, less outrageous, programming such as "The T.O. Show," "Brandy and Ray J," and "What Chilli Wants," failed miserably, leaving them no choice but to return to what garnered them high ratings and even higher buzz.

The talker, appropriate titled "Flav of the Day," will feature four of the "Flavor of Love" franchise's most memorable personalities: Tiffany 'New York' Pollard leads the panel, which will also include Megan Hauserman, Saaphyri Windsor, Schatar 'Hottie' Taylor, Becky 'Buckwild' Johnston, and frequent guest and substitute co-host Angelique 'Frenchie' Morgan.

"These women all have unique personalities, and so they have unique views of important issues like government, popular culture, the media, the price of synthetic hair, and the possibilities are endless," said a VH1 spokesperson. "And, of course, where there are unique personalities, there is conflict, and we hope to see lots of it. To bring them all together in a format like this is genius and will do what similar talk shows have always to but were always too scared to do."

"Whether it's New York's mother stopping by with an inspirational message from above, or Schatar and Saaphyri with some invaluable health and beauty tips, or a travelogue featuring Frenchie in her native Paris, we hope to provide our audience with entertainment and education, thus continuing on the foundation set by the likes of Agnes Nixon."

I saw her on some procedural as the mother of a missing son a few years back and she was quite good but you're right. She did seem to stay stuck in the role of Jackie.

ETA: It was "Without a Trace."

Ugh. I hate reality tv. Even "positive" reality tv hosted by attractive gay men. But if this is what we have to go through to get to the next round of soaps let's get it over with.

I hope it does well. I was hoping it would be shown in the afternoon but it will on in the mornings here so I'll have to DVR it. Interesting it will be on my CBS affiliate and not NBC where Oprah is on here.

It's going into GL's old timeslot here so it's Nate Berkus vs. Sonny Corinthos. LOL!
