Susan Seaforth Hayes is returning to Y&R.

CBS Soaps In Depth is reporting Days of Our Lives star Susan Seaforth Hayes will return to The Young and the Restless. Seaforth Hayes will slip back into the role of Joanna Manning, mama bear to Lauren (Tracey Bregman). No word on her first airdate.

Soaps In Depth hears that Susan Seaforth Hayes — best known to soap fans as Julie on DAYS OF OUR LIVES — will reprise the role of Joanna Manning, Lauren's mom, on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS later this summer! Did Joanna know that her late ex-husband, Neil, had fathered Jill? According to our sources, the actress is set to tape her scenes later this month. Y&R doesn't comment on casting rumors.

Wow. They are going all out with this Lauren/Jill story. I am shocked they're giving it this mmuch effort.

I'm not sure if bringing back SSH for one or two episodes is going all out. If anything this might mean they're trying to burn through the story as quickly as possible and hiding it under a jazzy return visit, like they did with killing off Liz and then not even bothering to do a service.

This will probably all end up being about Victor or Chompers or the Newmans anyway.

Maybe not all out, I am just suprised they even bothered bringing SSH back.

She will return, confirm that Neil is Jill's father and give them all the details, and the story will be quietly wrapped up on the backburner.

I will be shocked if this story will even matter in a month.

If they can use this story to prop others then it will go on. They humiliated Jill in business for months last year to make Victor look like more of a god and to give Jeffrey and Gloria more "comedy", so they may do the same again.
