I did not realize McKenzie was only 22 when she was cast on Passions. She looked older to me.

I assumed the actress was in her late 20s when the show started. Even then she seemed too young for Ethan to refer to her as Aunt Sheridan. Not to mention being best friends with Princess Di!

When Casting Stone On GH, The Role Came Down To Michael Sutton Who Got The Role & Andrew Kavoit (Ex-Pail, ATWT 1986-91)

Looking at Kavovit's Wiki page there are also mentions that he was "strongly considered" for Noah on Passions in 2002 and "in talks and auditioned for" Rafe on DAYS.

I cannot imagine him as Rafe, to put it kindly, but, while I liked Dylan Fergus, Andrew might have been OK as Noah. I didn't know they had considered bringing Noah in in 2002. I did wonder why they waited so long to bring Noah on.

Admits it came down to him and Jacob Young for the role of JR Chandler in 2003.

Thanks for the upload, that's interesting. Wasn't Jamie recast at the same time? You'd think with his vibe they'd have wanted him for Tad's son instead of Adam's.

In the recent Soapy podcast episode, Judy Blye Wilson disclosed Renée Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline, OLTL) auditioned for her at All My Children but did not cast her because she was "too intelligent" for the role.

Ohh interesting. I haven't watched the episode yet, but did she say who or what time period? Very curious to know who got the role instead (which is sort of an insult haha).

Bradley Cole just revealed prior to being cast as Richard on Guiding Light, he received the sides for Edmund; conversely, David Andrew MacDonald received the sides for Richard.

The show was wise to cast them the way they did in the end.

When Alexander Walters was on the Locher Room, he said not long after his ATWT exit, he was offered a contract role on DAYS. His agent pushed him to move away from soaps, so he declined the part, which he later regretted.

He was done with ATWT around spring or summer 1997. I wonder if the role was Jack Devereaux, as Mark Valley was leaving around this time.

I agree; they worked well in the roles they were ultimately cast into.

Visually, I could see him as Jack. And surely it would have been a much wiser selection than Steve Wilder. By far.

I agree. Jack and Jennifer were likely just about done anyway but he makes more sense as a continuation from Valley.

Absolutely; it just seemed like Wilder's casting was a means to an end for the character. Perhaps that's why Walters declined the role? Because it was going to be shorter term?
