Jamey posted a bonus in the comments:

BONUS* Which temper tantrum having, hissy fit throwing wannabe soap diva runs to her E.P anytime an actor in a scene does something she doesn't like to tattle? Rumor has it her antics have gotten more than one scene partner axed.

Vanessa Marcil will be back again and Guza will probably get the Brenda/Jason pairing he so wanted.

Considering how all the hype over JJ's return turned into a big nothing, I wonder if this time will be any different.

The only reason why I'd ever want this to happen is to see Cassie Layne even further degraded and relegated to scene chewing "mother of the year."

But Vanessa being the centerpiece means less of my other favorite GH females(i.e. Lisa Low, Dahlia, Brook). :(

If they sign her to a longer than three month deal, Kelly Monaco is SO fired.

If she doesn't bring the ratings up, and honestly I think daytime is at the point where no one will cause a ratings increase (it would have to be done slowly and gradually through promotion, quality storytelling, etc.) I wouldn't be surprised if they only keep her on for a limited run.

Blow out the candles. No more need for rain dances, or vigils, the season of silk pajamas, tramp stamps and sexy giggles is (almost) officially upon us. Word is SHE returns on screen in August. Just when I thought all hope was lost (sheds tear of unadulterated fanboy joy before going to listen to Prince). All pretenders to the throne beware, the original is on her way.

It's Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda, GH). The allusion to Prince is a dead giveaway.

Which showrunner is royally pissed off that an actress who played an iconic role on his or her soap in the 80's is currently winning critical raves in a recurring role on a soap on another coast? Apparently the thesp-in-question was asked to return for a VSP (Very Special Episode) by her old soaping grounds in recent years, yet declined (Well her character did die onscreen!).

I would say Jessica Tuck (Madeline, DAYS; ex-Megan, OLTL) is the "thesp-in-question," and OLTL's EP, Frank Valentini, is the "showrunner" who is "royally pissed." Tuck, in fact, was asked to return to OLTL and be Viki's tour guide on her second "round trip to Heaven," but had to back out, forcing OLTL to ask Erin Torpey (ex-Jessica) to appear in her place (as the grown-up version of Will and Jessica's dead baby, also named Megan).

Don't be surprised if a soap guest star ends up sticking around indefinitely. Apparently the brass has become very enamored by the actor and are thinking of offering him or her a contract.

James Franco? KIDDING! (At least, I hope I am, lol.) Seriously, John Martin (nuBill, DAYS) would be my guess, although, for the life of me, I can't understand why. After him is Patrick Duffy (Stephen, B&B), except, at this point, I think he's more recurring than an actual "guest star."

One soap recently shifted everything storywise, preparing for the return of one of their most popular blasts from the past, only for the divo to decide at the last minute he'd rather have a V-8.

Please don't tell me this pertains to Larry Bryggman (ex-John, ATWT). That would just break my damn heart.

People in the know are chuckling about how one soap loves to brag about having big names "on contract" to make it appear like a big get, when said contracts are always for very limited runs, sometimes as little as 40-something episodes. Talk about spin.

Oh, this has Y&R written all over it.

Although TPTB hate a former soap star, who fans desperately want back on the soap, everytime the ratings dip too low, talk of bringing the actor back comes up.

And if this isn't about Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla, Y&R)....

People are starting to whisper the words "burned out" about one daytime writer.

OLTL's HW, Ron Carlivati?

Actors on one soap are scratching their heads about the storylines even moreso than the fans.

Lemme guess, Y&R, lol? They must know Papa Bell and his team would never write that ish even on their worst days.

As if being snubbed for a Daytime Emmy nod wasn't enough, one of daytime's recent breakout stars is on his or her way out, due to a soap entering into another round of insane budget cuts this summer. Expect more blood.

Well, it seemed like all the pundits screamed the loudest about Stacy Haiduk (Patty/Emily, Y&R) not getting a nod, so I'll go with her.

One soap was so pissed off that a former actor landed a gig on a rival network, they actually attempted to leak nasty lies about the star! SCAN-DAL-OUS!

Perhaps, AMC's EP, Julie Hanan Carruthers, took Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca)'s jump to Y&R a little too personally?

A real-life couple on one soap is pushing TPTB to let them work together onscreen. Yeah, 'cause that always turns out so well.

Molly Burnett and Casey Jon Diedrick (Melanie and Chad, DAYS)?

This one soap is just about ready to tell a demanding-but-insanely-popular diva where to go, and even has a contigency plan—a superstar from a recently cancelled soap, who is just itchin' to join the cast of said show.

Aside from the "superstar from a recently cancelled soap" being from ATWT (Colleen Zenk Pinter, aka Barbara? Martha Byrne, ex-Lily?), I've no idea. I'm worried, however, the "demanding-but-insanely-popular diva" could be from Y&R. Nabbing superstars from other soaps appear to be Paul and Maria's m.o.

Which E.P. has made such a sport of pissing off longterm, beloved stars of his show, that the network is starting to grow fearful no one will even come back to help celebrate a rather, um "poignant" moment in the show's history?

ATWT's EP, Chris Goutman? No, wait, their finale's pretty much in the can, isn't it? Doesn't DAYS have a big anniversary coming up this fall? I'll go with Ken Corday, then.

Which beloved, former soap couple is rumored to have been offered the chance to reunite on the hit reality competition series The Amazing Race?

I think it'd have to be a couple from one of the CBS soaps, since I doubt the network would ask, say, Anthony Geary and Genie Francis to come aboard. Therefore, my gut says it's Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer (ex-Josh and Reva, GUIDING LIGHT).
