I forgot to mention the not so subtle product placement with Nature Valley's trailmix that was used with Sami and Allie last week. My goodness, could they be anymore obvious? That was even worse than the mess Ive seen ABC pull and they've been very bad with that

LOL! They have done it before.

I remember once Bo and Hope had a full blown conversation on Cheerios and how they're good for your heart.:lol::lol:

Ha, i loved it. Hey if you have to hawk it just do it. Soaps need to go back to just doing promos for products right there on set, in character.

Sadly, its been done a lot. The worst was the Midol ad with steph/chels/morgan

Wasn't there one with Arianna/Gabi a few weeks ago with Midol or some other product for women?

Yeah.

Midol, Nature Valley. Cheerios, Tylenol, and a few others must have deals because they are also all seen in the background. Dr Pepper too, i think.

I dont mind it. I mean, if it helps the show... and honestly, at these these companies are investing in soaps. I am sure it could be done better, but im always amused when they do it. The lingering camara shots on the product bother me more than the dialog actually.

Showing them in the background or camera shots isnt so bad or obvious, but when they have the characters actually start reciting words taken straight out of a commercial, I have to roll my eyes. I remember on AMC and OLTL a year or 2 ago, they went overboard with Campbell's soup promotion. At least that was kinda worked into the storyline of the show as both were doing Go Red charity events. I was LMAO at this write up of the Days moment I mentioned

Another WTF moment on Days. In case you think The Diva has gone nuts when you read the title, that is the latest product placement ploy that was used by DOOL in todays show. And they used a cute little kid who couldn't even say it right. Sami had to save the day when little Ali couldn't remember the name of the damn thing. Who can blame her. Then they proceed to drag out a second bag for Grandma Caroline. Sorry Days but that was so forced and did not fit in at all with the show. Come on this was suppose to be all about Alice and you are promoting a bunch of nuts. Shameful!

and the Bo/Hope Cheerios one. My goodness, Hope just whips out a jumbo size box of Cheerios in the middle of a restaurant. How random! Its not even a regular size box but the real big one.

LOL, Bo asked Henderson was he hungry, because they had a fresh box of Cheerios. WTF does that?

I don't even care how terrible the product placement bits are. The more hamhanded, the better. I get such a kick out of how ridiculous they are.

Thats how i really feel. I mean, it has to be done and there is no way to just slip it in and make it natural. So ham it up!
