Kind of surprising with 90210/gg on mon and oth/lux on tues. i knew they would pair them like that, but thought the nights would be flipped. I assume they know that ABC family has ben hurting them in the ratings and this is a rather bold move to try and strike against them...

NTM & Hellcats dont fit together, IMHO, but they had no other option.

thurs/fri was a given. No surprise there.

I wonder if the picked up any midseason show, ill be surprised if they didnt even pick up 1. I am kind of surprised changlings didnt make the cut too.

I think it looks pretty good. As you said JP, the fans of Supernatural (yup, I'm one of those obsessed fans) will follow their last season, so it doesn't really matter. Monday and Tuesday's shows are of course a perfect match, and yes Nikita got a good shot right after VD.

Pretty solid. I know they get a lot of flack for not having sitcoms. Oh well. Having no sitcoms is only slightly worse than have a stable of two or three successful ones and then two or three shitrocious ones that fail.

Hellcats after Top Model is kinda odd, but like Jack said, what else could they do with that? Sup and 'Ville will pull in good numbers (good for Fridays on The CW, at least), and Nikita should benefit from the Vamp lead-in. I'm not really expecting to watch Nikita, but I'll give it a chance simply because it'll be on after Vamp. Who knows, maybe I'll like it.

I wish they'd bring back Sunday programming, just so that they could have two more slots.

There would still be OTH, unless 10-11 will be its last season as well.

Its a very nice lineup.

Umm, i dont know. I guess so. I watch the most shows on it of all of them (GG, 90210, Lux, Vamp & now Hellcats) but it doesnt have my fave programming, ABC Family Does (Make it or break it, secret life, greek, pretty little liars, etc...).

I watch a pretty even amount of shows across all networks, except NBC where i onlt watch two shows.

I dont watch it, however i have been randomly watching it in reruns on tnt.

Every time I see you post something about Days of Our Lives or something related to The CW, I think of you as some sort of a spokesperson for the networks. Every time. Which is not a bad thing, it's just a bizarre sensation I have.

Great schedule! Monday has the "rich" shows with decent writing and minimal meaningful scenes. While Tuesday has the two shows that are similar in tone with better writing. SPN is back with Smallville. Nikita is with TVD - nice combo.

Secret Life usually crushes CW's Monday shows. And they compete for the same demo.

My CW viewing schedule:

MONDAY

8:00PM 90210 (picked up)

9:00PM GOSSIP GIRL (picked up)

TUESDAY

8:00PM ONE TREE HILL (picked up)

9:00PM LIFE UNEXPECTED (picked up)

WEDNESDAY

9:00PM HELLCATS (will sample)

THURSDAY

8:00PM THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (picked up)

9:00PM NIKITA (will sample)

FRIDAY

8:00PM SMALLVILLE (picked up)

    • Dina was Jack, Ashley and Tracy's mom on Y&R.  Joanna was Lauren Fenmore's mother, played by Susan Seaworth-Hayes.
    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
