To do what?

To be written totally out of character regardless of legacy & to advance their White peers stories.

That's it.

Written totally out of character? Angie and Jesse had not been in Pine Valley for two decades and Natalia's a new character. Who the hell is to say WHAT is in or out of character?

Again, WHAT ARE YOUR EXAMPLES?!?

Actually I hear she's on almsot every day but she's VERY easy to ignore and miss

But on a more serious note, IA, the blacks on AMC arent simply tokens. Jesse, Angie and Natalie are used regularly. Frankie, unfortunately is never used. Randi shows up but is almsot irrelevant bc she has no story. I guess 3 out of 5, isnt so bad. MUCH better than all of the other soaps

But, to your point, it happens with every show no matter what ethnicity the characters are. Some characters get story over others. It just happens.

You know, it seems to me that what's NOT being said is that certain people want a black equivalent to Erica, Adam, Greenlee, Ryan. And until that happens, satisfaction will never be achieved.

I wasn't watching AMC during the summer of 2008, but just happened upon clips on YouTube of the Colby, Dre and Cass story a couple months ago and was like "wow! A summer storyline on a soap where the white girl is hanging out with her two best friends who are black... and the black kids are the ones getting the love story?" I was kinda surprised.

But AMC still doesn't do it's African American characters justice. They are thrown around at random times, IMO. The story's aren't consistent with them. I get excited everytime I see them, but know it isn't for long. There is nothing to savor with them

+1.

Catching up on the week from being out of town...

This episode is horrible. The Damon/Colby dialogue is horrendous! Jamanda sex was awkward. Jesse was annoying as hell. Marissa was totally out of line acting hurt and being nosy about who Annie is having an affair with...

I think AMC is doing a wonderful job including their black actors - and I love seeing them on my screen! AMC is without a doubt the best soap right now having black actors and utilizing them with a purpose. Btw, who is the second hispanic contract actor (I'm assuming JR Martinez is one of two...)?

I beleive Denise Vasi. She's half Dominican, half Greek

Not a ringing endorsement.

I'll grant you that, for sure. But I disagree about not being written in character. It just seems out of all the things to pick on, to complain that Angie is being thrown under a bus everytm she has a scene (which is nearly every day) is... silly.
