Y&R Discussion for the week of April 5th

I only hope to god she is written out at the conclusion of this story. If they mean to redeem her and keep her on, I'm going to be very depressed.

Tricia Cast looks younger. Is it the hair, weight loss or is it a change in her face like a chemical peel or something.

Nina brings such great joy to the show for me. I wish they'd beef up her storyline...she's being wasted as Chloe's nemesis.

They are trying to recreate Jill vs. Nina with this storyline.

Will they ever have her find her long lost son? The candidates for her son were JT and Raul, but I had to rule out Raul. I can't imagine Rose DeVill selling a baby to a family that was poor. I even thought that maybe Ryder may end up being her son. Yes Chance is older than Ryder, but recently timelines haven't stopped this show.

They should do the baby switch story with Nina, but I don't know if they ever will. JT should go back to working for Paul and take the job for Nina and then discover he's her son. It would be great, especially if they reference Victoria's jealousy of Nina.

Well, with the current IIC they just might. But I remember back when Bill Bell ( I believe)was writing the show he had Nina say something like 'the story is more poignant because the character doesn't get a resolution'. She was referencing a character in one of her books, but at the time it was clear the the writers were referencing Nina finding her son and Y&R letting us know that wasn't going to happen. Maybe someone with a better memory than me can elaborate on that scene, but I always agreed with that decision. I liked it when Bill Bell left certain plot threads hanging. I always thought it set Y&R apart and made it much more interesting and realistic. Sometimes the bad guys do win (Rose, Phyllis etc).
