Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

Oh my God yes!!! I rebinged Season 2 (as I always do/did before it got taken off my system) and she gave fashion after fashion after fashion. So seeing Adriana last season...she had more misses than hits. I was smh. But I guess she got the memo because from Episode 1 she has been slaying in confessionals, I loved her bikini (with that beautifully massive cape blowing in the wind like a Greek goddess) in her video because not many people...especially Housewives...can pull off yellow and she SLAYED. I cannot wait to watch that episode in full when Bravo finally shows it on TV because I'm going to be in awe. And I liked her dress with her bf. I loved her last week in the business suit. Adriana has been WORKING. She only has to do one more thing for me, and judging from her reunion dress, she is doing it...and that is darken her hair back. I sooooo want old Adriana back. Her hair was sooooo beautiful black.

And yes, Guerdy stay slaying looks as well. I think I told you how much I love bangs so her bangs when she was arguing with Alexia. I was in HEAVEN. And what she was wearing...BONUS.

I agree with all of this.

There is a reason why RHOM is having its best season. Why? Because it's clear they are all friends on AND OFF screen. And they are not manufacturing anything. They are living their lives...and those lives are interesting and intriguing (all that wealth porn)...that people want to watch. And even when these women get down in the gutter, they will STILL be there for their friends. THAT is what viewers are starting to  watch to see again with some fun and funny moments. And definitely nothing fake. Other HW shows should really be taking note.

I definitely believe Meredith and Lisa were friends at one point. And their men seem quite close, too. But yes...I don't think they will ever be the same.

As for Little Girl and her cousin Sherk...I think it was clear from the Season 1 reunion they were...bad weather and making up stuff. And now look at where they are. smh.

I get your point, but the ratings do not support your thesis.  While RHoSLC is down this season, the variability is not statistically significant, which means that it is due to chance versus audience rejection

And season 12 of RHoBH, (which was certainly not my favorite), was also a ratings success

RHOBH Season 12 hitting a series high in total viewers in the ratings. According to Nielsen, Episode 10 earned a 0.26 in the P18-49 demo and 1,212,000 viewers, up over the year prior (0.30 / 1,138,000)

That doesn't even take into account DVR viewers or Peacock.  So, while we complain they're still raking in the dough which gives very little reason for change.  If anything the expansion to Miami and Dubai demonstrate that they are committed to the format.  And Peacock's decision today to use Andy for the Traitor's Reunion suggests that they are committed to him as the face of the network.

All of that is to say, our opinions may be valid, but we should be careful toward believing that there is universal agreement based on social media feedback when it often doesn't reflect the actual audience support.

I was going to say -- this is the first year that the episodes are reliably available on a streaming service almost simultaneous with their premiere on the network. There are likely plenty of folks who either no longer even get Bravo or, since they don't watch it night-of, just fire it up on Peacock on Thursday or over the weekend.

I do think the shows will continue to evolve, as some elements become outdated, and certain cast members or full franchises will be left behind in the process, but that's always been the case.

Miami:

This has to be the one of the best looking casts for a reunion since RHOA season 7. But Guerdy and Kiki rose to the top. They looked exceptional.

Regarding the episode, while Anthony was condescending, Todd was an ass. Nicole placing the credit card on that attorney's lap wasn't that serious. Hell, I worked for an attorney and if anyone placed a AmEx on her lap, that wench was going to swipe it. I found it distasteful that Todd was acting like working for 3 attorney firm was low brow. Having a firm of 50+ attorneys don't mean sh*t if you don't have the track record in litigation to back it. That was just a stupid argument. I am eager to see the Bahamas trip as it looks like Adriana is going to take Las Cubanas and Larsa to task.

Robyn's going to be on WWHL on Sunday which usually tapes the Wednesday before, so that's something to look forward to.  I wonder what Andy's tone will be like?  Also, big fan of Mizrahi and I hope we get him in a new fashion project soon.

Robyn AND Eboni K. Eboni's pushing a book, apparently. I hope Andy lays into Robyn TBH.

Love Isaac Mizrahi (and will love seeing him interact with my girl Dolores) and wish he would land a project. I also recall the few times André Leon Talley (may he RIP) would appear on WWHL. I could have listened to him talk about fashion and the OG jet-set and Real Housewives all night long.

IA this has been the case over the past two years, but as others have pointed out here, streaming is the big question-mark, because we don't know the streaming numbers. And we should! We don't know if there has been a straight switch from cable to streaming, and whether Bravo counts streaming +7 days for its assessment of whether a show is popular, viable, on the bubble, or dunzo. From my POV, because I live outside the US now, I am thrilled that my streaming views might be included for shows I actually watch.

But you make a good point that the buzz around RH is not the same (of course), that the pandemic and BLM and other movements might have changed priorities and tastes, that RH will have to evolve to survive... and that SLC is the prime example of what NOT to do with a RH franchise. I found it fake and unwatchable this season and ducked out pretty early on. I just stopped caring.

But that's not the case for all the RH franchises, and I still hold out hope for some of the ones going through rockier times. I am still ready to give them the chance of renewal in the season that follows.

With Andy, there are times when I think 'He really doesn't get it, he's behind the curve.' S2 SLC and dealing with Jennie and Mary Cosby's departure was one such time that springs to mind. The problem is that AC is superficial, and some of the women try to cater to him and kiss up to him in order to stay on their shows. So they try to give him what he wants.

But other times, I get pleasantly surprised when Andy does have his eye on the ball and addresses issues the audience might have. I do think Bravo mostly makes judicious choices when it comes to letting a HW go vs keeping them on the show. They got burned with the Tamra situation.

I notice you mention Miami -- and I happen to agree with your assessment about Marysol and Alexia! Miami is hope for the future, a sign that a RH can be done right, with balance, a hark back to the glory days, and become a watercooler show.

I will of course be watching this (!!!) but is it just me, or is the trailer oddly edited? It feels disjointed in some way?

Loved Chris Bassett-Hound giving Gizelle (and hopefully Ashley) both barrels. The sad thing is I'm not sure even that will stop them. The Third King had a great thread on Twitter about RHOP and put blame at the door of production encouraging this.

Everyone, including Jacqueline, looks amazing in blue.

Mia-Jacqueline-Gordon is kind of sordid and so is Ashley's creepy relationship with her pre-nup daddy. My prediction? Ashley and Michael Darby don't really get divorced.

Ray going to talk about Blue Eyes...? I'm ready.

Bump-on-a-Log grunting.

Like, that's the extent of her contribution to the reunion trailer.

I was going to say that they all look garish and tacky LOL, and I love royal blue. The hair is not doing them any favors either. People were going on about how good the Miami ladies looked at their reunion, and I thought they looked a mess too, so maybe my tastes are very very different. Heh.

Jacqueline is clearly auditioning for S8.

Get ‘em, Chris Bassett!

That's it? I love Potomac but that's it?

Hell, Jacqueline seems like the only one that clocked in for work and she's a friend.

I am not surprised that Ray doesn't give a f-ck about Blue Eyes. He didn't back in season 3. He doesn't care now. When will these bozos realize that if Karen/Ray have an arrangement, Ray is fine with who Karen sees?

Wendy & Mia just need to pet each other's kitties and call it day. I'm sick of them at this point.

Cha-Cha is throwing everything but the kitchen sink to tarnish Karen, but it ain't gonna work. Girl, give up the pipe dream of being a Housewife. See if Carlos will hire you for his poor man's housewife show at this point.

Robert still sitting there providing NOTHING to the show. Her free ride needs to end after this season. Either next season needs to be the season she is exposed or get rid of her.

And then the Bassetts & Accordion Neck Gizelle...

Now wasn't Chris B. the main one telling Chris {Samuels} to not scream at Gizelle and Robyn for spreading the rumor about the paternity of their child and to address the men? But he is screaming at Ashley and Gizzard in the trailer about how those rumors have affected his family. Boy, have the tables turned...

Folks tried to tell them back then that Gizelle was going to have their turn with them. Now it is OK. OK, Broke Chris...

And Candiace was being real tame. If anything, this was the time for her to get buck. Let's see if she delivers.
