Yeah, I thought it was going to come across as aggressive/belligerent, but so far it just seems like Luann drunkenly singing and the audience laughing at her. I feel like she was doing an impromptu audition for that Kinky Boots producer who was out with her? And she's obsessed with cabaret, and wants more than anything for this to be her career. And she's a big partier, for lack of a better word, and, I believe, surrounds herself with only yes men. In any case, this might be a good time for RHONY to start filming again.

That Page Six article @DaytimeFan posted has a denial/rewrite of the incident straight out of Luann's Pirate Booty cover-up!

Jeana in a sky top I would take!

I'm actually OK with a more lowkey look for OC. I'm sick of OTT Halloween glam in lieu of actual story, Thoigh the most shocking to me is a seemingly bra-lless Heather!

You are right about Shannon. She always looks uncomfortably crammed. Jen overcompensated in her wannabe-Jen-Shah outfit and just looks overdressed with no place to go. And Noella looks... somewhat unhealthy.

Did any of you guys hear about Bella Hadid's Vogue interview, and how her childhood was so traumatic, she doesn't remember much of it? Very honest interview by Bella, talking about some of the anxiety issues she struggles with. But Yolanda, who is not oftlen mentioned directly by name, doesn't come out looking good at all.

Oh, Tiki and the mistress are a bust. Not even their trashy 'love story' can disguise the fact that they are deeply, deeply dull. And OF COURSE Melissa would bring them onto the show. Wouldn't want anyone overshadowing her & Joe, would we?

I am beyond over the Real Househusbands of New Jersey. With the exception of Frank, who actually viewed things in a reasonable, balanced way, I thought they treated Bill reprehensibly. Frank was the only one to hear Bill out and say he thinks they should leave the drama to the ladies. Joe Gorga is an instigator in much of this. Two seasons ago, Bill was getting lots of fan compliments at Reunion; I don't think Joe liked that one bit, and he started poking at Bill a lot more. He was happy as a clam when Bill walked out -- and then he invited Louie so he could poke at him. I hope Louie realises that Joe will turn on him in an instant and will be using him for SL fodder.

As much as I am disliking some of the adult cast, I have a lot of time for the kids. I really felt for Antonia's struggle at a new school after an injury, struggling with depression. The Gorgas prioritised the younger boys' sports schedule over their daughter finishing her last two years of high school where she felt secure and nurtured.

Also, Gia can join the RHONJ cast anytime she wants. I love huh and the other Giudice girls. Frankie is the sweetest with his grandmother. Dolores's mom is lovely, and I was feeling for D this week.

While I'm not sure Louie isn't scamming Tre by Speaking her Love Language, he was right in saying Teresa was bashful. I hadn't realised after all these years until RHUGT how socially shy Teresa is. She is a different person around her dawters and Louie.

Marge's VT statements about Teresa being guilliable are not 100% wrong, but the tone was mean and malicious. That VT will bite her in the ass at Reunion. She's also still trying to make her Mini-Me happen, which... no.

I want to say RHUGT was filmed after NJ. For some reason, I feel like RHUGT was filmed after her engagement party when not even her long-time friend Dolores was invited. She also talked on RHUGT about feeling like she had no friends in the NJ cast.

See? I want to say differently than Cat and say before. Because Teresa was just starting to date Louie before the end of last season. And then ALL STARS filmed. And then her and Melissa had to get back to NJ to film. But I might be wrong. I know part of the reason no one was filming from POTOMAC was because they were filming at the time.

Well, I can see why she would like to do that as a career. Lu does have enough personality for a good piano bar for sure.

I saw it mentioned online re: Bella. Yeah, Yolanda was getting such backlash.

Exactly!!! And Teresa might be guillable, but she is smart enough to know when someone is coming for her. That was why I loved Teresa taking pot shots at Marge at last season's reunion. And she herself brought it up to Marge TO HER FACE. What kind of friend is she to be saying that about her? Chef's kiss to Teresa shading her heck out of Marge's man then, too. Their falling out (and spoiler alert...they are STILL on the outs) has been a LONG time coming. And the fact Marge is STILL being mean? Yeah, the reunion will be on one. Again.

I commend Luann for quickly responding to that news story with an acknowledgement, an apology and a promise to do better.

I don't know if the rehab is just until she can get back to drinking in a more manageable way, as Luann really enjoys a social, partying lifestyle. I always waver when it comes to Luann as to whether she is an alcoholic with a serious problem, or just someone who likes to booze it up from time to time. Maybe a bit of both? In the absence of RHONY, the drinking (and perhaps other things, so the rumors say) may have been building for some time. On the other hand, not everyone needs to be a teetotalling yoga hermit in life.

Now I'm starting to question my initial guess! I'm sure we can find out online exactly when both series were filmed.

Lol still thinking about the Tiktok the RHUGT did on the beach, where Ramona and Teresa attempted (and failed) to dance in formation, and Kenya elbowed Luann out of the way on the path to fabulousness.

Yeah, I think the gloves will be off at reunion between Tre and Marge.

Initially I wasn't feeling the spinoff, as I feel Karen works best in a RH setting interacting with the other women.

That was before I heard (A) that this was only a 2-parter -- and not, say, the usual longer length for a spin-off, and (B ) the budget-Succession music!

It seems to be about family legacy and race. One of Potomac's best ever episodes is when they visited the former plantation and unravelled some of Gizelle's painful history. Karen's show is giving some of that vibe.

OK, so principal photography of Housewives in Da Island Baby

Please register in order to view this content

began in April 2021, according to Wiki.

RHONJ seems to have been filmed over the summer, hence the Jersey Shore footage and the "cruel, cruel summer" song they had in the trailer.

So it looks like UGT was filmed before NJ.

And yes @alwaysAMC I thought Dolores and Tre were way closer. They grew up in Paterson together and knew each other's moms. In past seasons, we had Dolores's mom asking how Teresa was doing like she knew her. I just looked up their birthdays, and Dolores's is 28 December, 1970 and Teresa's 18 May 1972. So they may not have been in the same grade but maybe a grade or two apart.

It is sad that they are no longer close. I feel like Teresa has withdrawn from the group (with good reason, perhaps) since the early days of the show, and especially now that she has Louie. She doesn't open up easily to others.

Also, Teresa hates Caroline Manzo and loves Dina. By contrast, Dolores & Caroline are close, while she and Dina hate each other. So I imagine that impacted Dolores-Teresa's relationship. Dolores & Marge hitting it off prob didn't help.

If Dina ever decided to return, I'd be down for it.

  Interesting!

Anyone watching Kandi and the Gang?  I'm liking it so far!  You can tell they tried to shoot this series before Covid and then it got scrapped and now they're trying to bring everyone back in to work and be part of the show again.

    • Here's the place to share some memorable criticism. You don't have to agree with it, of course (that's often where the fun starts). Like I mentioned to @DRW50, Sally Field was a favorite punching bag in the late '80s and early '90s.   Punchline (the 1988 movie where she and Tom Hanks are stand ups): "It's impossible to tell the difference between Miss Field's routines that are supposed to be awful, and the awful ones that are supposed to be funny." -- Vincent Canby, New York Times. "It's not merely that Field is miscast; she's miscast in a role that leaves no other resource available to her except her lovability. And (David) Seltzer's script forces her to peddle it shamelessly." -- Hal Hinson, Washington Post. "As a woman who can't tell a joke, Sally Field is certainly convincing. ... Field has become an unendurable performer ... She seems to be begging the audience not to punch her. Which, of course, is the worst kind of bullying from an actor. ... She's certainly nothing like the great housewife-comedian Roseanne Barr, who is a tough, uninhibited performer. Sally Field's pandering kind of 'heart' couldn't be further from the spirit of comedy." -- David Denby, New York   Steel Magnolias: The leading ladies: Dolly Parton: "She is one of the sunniest and most natural of actresses," Roger Ebert wrote. Imagining that she probably saw Truvy as an against-type role, Hinson concluded it's still well within her wheelhouse. "She's just wearing fewer rhinestones." Sally Field: "Field, as always, is a lead ball in the middle of the movie," according to Denby . M'Lynn giving her kidney to Shelby brought out David's bitchy side. "I can think of a lot more Sally Field organs that could be sacrificed." Shirley MacLaine: "(She) attacks her part with the ferociousness of a pit bull," Hinson wrote. "The performance is so manic that you think she must be taking off-camera slugs of Jolt." (I agree. If there was anyone playing to the cheap seats in this movie, it's Shirley.) Olympia Dukakis: "Excruciating, sitting on her southern accent as if each obvious sarcasm was dazzlingly witty," Denby wrote. Daryl Hannah: "Miss Hannah's performance is difficult to judge," according to Canby, which seems to suggest he took a genuine "if you can't say something nice ..." approach. Julia Roberts: "(She acts) with the kind of mega-intensity the camera cannot always absorb," Canby wrote. That comment is so fascinating in light of the nearly 40 years Julia has spent as a Movie Star. She is big. It's the audience who had to play catch up. And on that drag-ish note ... The movie itself: "You feel as if you have been airlifted onto some horrible planet of female impersonators," Hinson wrote. Canby: "Is one supposed to laugh at these women, or with them? It's difficult to tell." Every review I read acknowledged the less than naturalistic dialogue in ways both complimentary (Ebert loved the way the women talked) and cutting (Harling wrote too much exposition, repeating himself like a teenager telling a story, Denby wrote). Harling wrote with sincerity and passion, Canby acknowledged, but it's still a work of "bitchiness and greeting card truisms." The ending was less likely to inspire feeling good as it was feeling relieved, according to Denby. "(It's) as if a group of overbearing, self-absorbed, but impeccable mediocre people at last exit from the house."
    • I tend to have two minds about Tawny (Kathy Najimy) fainting during Soapdish's big reveal. You're the costume designer, if anything, you should have known the whole time. I guess it's an application of what TV Tropes calls the "Rule of Funny." Every time I watch Delirious, I always want the genuine romance in John and Mariel's reunion at the deli counter to last longer. Film critics had their knives out for Sally in this period. I'll start a separate thread on the movies page.
    • I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was Dumas this whole time.
    • Tamara Tunie was serving up grand dame diva fierceness.
    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
