The recap for what went down this season was 100% Theresa. Absolutely NOTHING about Jacqueline, Kathy or Caroline's stuff away from Theresa. Im not throwing Melissa in that as she's too intertwined with Theresa's drama. I can see why those 3 are rumored to be dropped. If Theresa does have to leave, they really don't have anything

Kathy says the last time she saw them get this intense was the christening. Is she forgetting the trip from this season?

Its amazing how much progress Nicholas has made. Good for him. That's an adorable kid

Melissa really needs to stop going to Posh events. Sh-t always goes down especially if Kim D is involved

The Caroline stuff definitely felt final like it was her sendoff

Joe: "Milania, you're chubby"

Milania: "Sorry. Maybe a girl can have her muffin top" :lol;

Miliania; "Ewwww. Who brought that?"

Antonia: "My mom"

With all the bullsh-t that went down, I forgot that this season started with Hurricane Sandy. I like that it ended bringing that back and showing how they've rebuilt from that. Overall I did like the finale. It brought closure and hopefully this is the end of all this nonsense. It was refreshing seeing everyone getting along

I knew I liked crazy Camille Paglia for a reason. This is exactly why I love the Real Housewives -- and her aim at today's Daytime soaps (with the possible exception of Days) is dead-on.

I hope BH's lead-in eventually gives Miami the bump in ratings it needs and deserves because it is one of the better RH franchises. I have been glued to it.

NeNe will be on The Chew today.

I agree with Camille about the appeal of a show like this and of what soaps used to be, although I think most soaps excelled when they were subtler but still had strong, complex feuds. I actually think the Housewives shows could do with being a little subtler and less blatantly scripted. I wish Cohen would watch more Knots and less of the worst of Dynasty, which is what some of them feel like now.

Camille once talked about how Nikki Newman was the essence of womanhood, and she had some great points.

lol that's kinda the point....boring. You can't build a show around their subplots ; at least not one that sustains interest. Who cares about Kathy making cannolis? Or Caroline moving to Hoboken? I actually liked Jaq with Nic but I know she faced a lot of criticism for that.

New Marlo interview with some effortless shade: http://cocoafab.com/exclusive-marlo-hampton-dishes-on-nenes-wedding-crazy-bridesmaids-style-secrets/

There are so many reasons to watch I Dream of Nene: The Wedding and one of the biggest reasons is the return of Marlo Hampton to the small screen.

It has been a while since we watched her on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and now she’s back to help her friend get down that aisle…again. In an exclusive interview with CocoaFab, Marlo dishes details on the lavish wedding, crazy bridesmaids and secrets to her sexy style.

“My style comes from my mother. She couldn’t afford expensive things when I was little but we would go to the Goodwill to get our outfits and she would come home and clean them and press them really good,” she says. “When I tell you we were the best dressed kids, it was crazy because we had things from the Goodwill. One of the key things is accessories. It’s all about accessories like bracelets or scarves or hats or earrings and I just go with it.”

According to Marlo, she’s not as high-maintenance as she seems.

“I just go with what feels good. Me and my stylist get into it sometimes because I believe it doesn’t have to match it just has to look good,” she says. “I wasn’t always able to afford labels. I do like them, but I don’t have to have them all the time. A piece I buy at TJ Maxx will get mixed with Chanel.”

The starlet is serious about her passion for fashion.

“I love all designers. I love anything that blings. I love pearls, I love patterns, I love it all.”

Marlo met Nene long before she shot to superstardom and even had a hand in her style transformation. “I owned a boutique and I styled Nene for her first episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” she reveals. “She looks beautiful. I know Nene admires a lot of my style and fashion sense and that’s where a lot of it came from but I love it. I think these are some of the best years of her life as in appearance and fashion.”

Her expert opinion came in handy since Nene’s girls were asked to design their own dresses for her big day. Marlo’s style savvy scored her a gig as the wedding’s Creative Director.

“I got to help her pick out linens and pick out the design for the wedding and flowers and crystals and all of that,” she says. “That’s what a lot of the girls don’t realize is that I was a bridesmaid and the creative director of this wedding.”

The other girls didn’t always appreciate Marlo’s efforts and last week was just the beginning of the battle between the bridesmaids.

We expected some drama to unfold with the all-star line up of bridesmaids in the mix, but no one could have predicted the shade we saw on last week’s episode. Diana Gowins didn’t mince words with the fashionista and a few other friends she doesn’t approve of for Nene.

You know I was really shocked. She caught me by surprise. I’m like, ‘are you serious?’ I was just really appalled,” she said of Diana’s catty comments. ”Diana has a single black female thing going on. I have never in my life seen a woman be that protective of and that crazy over another woman having friends.”

Diana didn’t understand why Nene would ask certain women to join her wedding party and called Marlo an “opportunist” to her face in the shady showdown.

“I think Diana is just really cuckoo and needs to get a mental evaluation. It’s just really bogus and the girl is just crazy,” she says.

“I had met Dianna before because my friend has kids and Diana has two by a married man so I met her before at the baseball field. I thought we were cool,” she said. “If Diana had any sense, she would be trying to be my friend so I could help her out with her fashion. We may have trouble trying to style a linebacker though, she’s a little too wide.”

Marlo admits she was caught off guard, but he should be used to her haters by now.

“For her to try to act like she’s living in this glass house and she’s not living in one and you just wanna sit and put accusations on me and what I’m doing and how i afford my lifestyle–i just think it’s so hilarious. I’m like, ‘don’t you have children by a married man? Are you serious right now?’ I mean that’s awful.”

While she says the ladies were watching her every move, some should be more worried about their own behavior. “No matter what you can say you’re never gonna hear about Marlo dating a married man. Thats a no no. Not at all.”

Marlo’s days on RHOA didn’t prepare her for this much drama.

“You never know what the hell to expect because you never know whats gonna come out of someone’s mouth. When I was with Diana that day for brunch I was seriously shocked,” she admits. “Like, day one? For real? You’re gonna go here seriously? Can’t you just get to know me?”

We’ll get to watch the rest of the drama unfold on this week’s episode of I Dream of Nene: The Wedding, and according to Marlo, it’s gonna be a doozey.

      Yes, Nicole. DRAG HER!
    • Writers: Teresa Zimmerman Lynn Martin Director: Steven Williford
    •  Yeah, he is still dressed like Martin. He looks great, though.  Cute picture. Sober up, cause we need the tea.
    • Well, Claire did rig Rick's test results, but it was to flunk. They actually managed to get his correct results back after they were thrown into Cedar's furnace...I think? Everyone knew Claire changed them and Rick passed so that rewrite never made sense.   I agree. Pratt always seems "edgy" on screen (and her Locker Room interview prooved that it came from her personality.) I liked Claire causeing trouble and love Meta ringing her beads. Its just too bad that Abby left and they kinda just forgot Claire existed.
    • Oh so they did sleep together. The retcon was just the medical boards? That makes sense. I think Susan Pratt, while a good actress, was just an unlikeable presence onscreen and soaps wrote to that most of the time. There was some potential for more with her when she returned in that stint, as Pratt was at least interesting to watch and caused some conflict for the stifled Bauers. Instead of pairing her with Alan and then disappearing I might have had her hook up with Danny. I think there was a lot of flirtation with Bolger's Philip, but they never crossed the line.
    • I haven't seen Melchior in the role, but it would be astounding if she's worse than Linn. Her rivalry with Stephanie was sidelined IMO because Linn was one of the few actors who didn't have chemistry with, nor raise her game, when paired with Susan Flannery. To be fair, she did show some signs of life in scenes opposite Darlene Connelly, but way too little too late. It feels like Bell finally woke up after the Thorne switchover and sidelined the Kristin character with Mick to 1 or 2 appearances a week. As a result, the show improved by leaps and bounds after she was inexplicably at the center of the show for most of 1989. Margo is so much more enjoyable when not tied to that albatross. Even Clarke is watchable with less Kristin interaction. She can't exit stage left soon enough. As for the new Thorne, I agree that Norcross feels like a Forrester a lot more than Thrachta, even if the latter is a better actor.
    • The cast said that scenes were filmed over a few weeks, with a preplanned hiatus in the middle, and it was all out of order.  I would *guess* that they used Chandler when they could get him? They also had to work around Leo Howard getting married around the time these episodes were filmed, but I guess they worked it out since Tate appeared.
    • Maybe there was a scheduling conflict or something. He still has the full time 9-5 in Atlanta, right? Julie was there. Idk if Maggie’s gonna be a part of it though
    • At this point, the best nonpaywall coverage of Los Angeles (and anything political)  is in...the Tennessee Holler https://bsky.app/profile/thetnholler.bsky.social And as always, emptywheel continues to be consistent https://bsky.app/profile/emptywheel.bsky.social
    • Today Monday was the start of people arriving at the funeral, but the service hasn't started yet.  I know this is the nonspoiler thread but I think it's okay to say (in nonspecific terms) that the funeral episodes span a few days.  I won't detail it more here. Just sayin' keep watching.
