That is not a black love problem. That's a writing issue. Put them in stories with white characters as their individual tales are told. As it stands, outside of Jessie and Angie, how many black characters actually have a story with white characters or without? It's pretty damn grim.

I never said they didn't have lives but writers in all soaps like to write Black romance & characters in their own little world. Where their storylines become stale & boring. I'm talking about romance wise. I know that they have jobs & friends. But when it comes to black on black love. That's why we always have Dru vs Olivia over Nate. Dru vs Olivia over Neil. Dru vs Olivia over Malcolm. Neil vs Malcolm over Alex. All these parings didn't effect anybody but the sisters & brothers. Then they brought in Tyra & the other chick over Neil. It was just them in their romance. But they had to throw in Devon. That's why after awhile it becomes boring.

The point is that Black romances/relationships are just as important as their White peers.

It's TPTB & the writing that doesn't allow them equality.

Karen & Nikki were friends but how many times did they have scenes after Y&R put Karen with Neil?

Devon had awesome frenemy chemistry with Amber & Chloe yet how many scenes did he have with them after they finished their stories with Scottie Pippen?

Exactly.

Not necessarily.

Sometimes it's in character & sometimes it's not.

Nathan/Olivia/Neil/Dru = In Character

Neil/Dru/Malcolm/Olivia = NOT In Character

You're discussing two different problems.

The first problem is Black Love SHOULD be treated equally but NEVER will be.

The second is that minority relationships are used as a disgusting way to marginalize & make tokens of minority characters & actors.

Minority relationships shouldn't be devalued because it's easier to make minorities into eunuchs or bed warmers for white characters as way to "have an impact" on the rest of the canvas.

It's unnecessary & offensive.

Blaming the victim is too easy.

WAY too easy.

God damn Zima sucks. And judging from what she looks like, maybe she's been eating too many of Malcolm's sandwiches.

And who ever played Aliehs today really hammed up that line "PUTTA IN DA CRATE!"

Victor blaming Hope for Adam being sheltered from him causing him to be like this was just as asinine.

I didn't blame anybody but the writers. They can't even write an interracial relationship. Some white knight or White Knightress have to come and save the non black from their black love. I know damn well they can't or won't write for black love. It be nice they hire people or ask the actors like Bill Bell did for VR. How can I make this black love work. I don't know anything about black love or interracial relationships.

I had a nasty feeling that the "Blame Hope" bandwagon would be around the corner when Grambo mumbled to Adam when he was tied up in the cabin that he should never have "let" Hope raise Adam given the way he turned out. This show WANTS me to hate it!

And MethToria and ApeCheater are just UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
