Would he even make it through the night? The whole group as being destroyed. (I honesty can't remember if he's in the books later, so that' not a spoiler.)

You;'re right about the songs and Blackfish, of course. In terms of Blackfish--it just seemed odd to add him there, but your explanation makessense. I guess it took him a long time to find an approprite pee-tree....

I see you point. Although I think after Ned was killed, I would think that anyone would be could be killed, but I agree that the audience had been lulled in complacency since no one major has died in a while.

Most definitely. Edmure is the Lord of Riverun which is why Frey took him as the second choice. Frey would need to be sure that Roslin had conceived and gave birth to a healthy child (multiple children would be even better) before he killed Edmure and even then, it would be unlikely that he would kill his son-in-law who has no power to harm him although after what he did to Robb and Cat, I suppose anything is possible.

Jon and Dany (and Arya) are the clear leads, but Jon and Dany each star in their own little TV shows that could literally be edited out and set up as spin offs. If Dany makes it to the mainland and interacts with anyone named Lannister or Stark by season 6 I will be shocked. At the pace her story is proceeding, she should hit land sometime around season 12.

They are that. I also think they're decent TV actors--meaning I'm not sure I could see thm in many roles, but for these roles, for myself, they work. (Dany's actress got some good noticies this spring in Breakfast at Tiffany's on Broadway, though she got some negative ones aswell and the show itself was almost universally disliked.)

And Ann, that's obvioously a very good point about Edmure, and one I didn't even think of.

I'm not sure Dany really is. I guess she's trying to free slaves, but Ser Jorah is right. If and when she gets to Westeros, the small folk will bleed just like any other war. She isn't going to be able to stop that.

At this point, we've seen the white walkers, so we know that Osha and the Red Priestess are right. The true battle is beyond the wall. I guess we are supposed to see The Lord of Light as the good force here, which is kind of hard for me to do. I suppose he's some sort of old testament god who is good even though he's demanding blood sacrifice. blink.png

One thing that kills me about this show is we have relatively good people on opposing sides of this fight (Tyrion, Dany, Davos, Stannis The Starks), basically weakening each other (or planning to), while the real fight hasn't even started yet.

I'm really excited for the next episode. I want to see where things end for the year.

For sure. I really don't know what's going on with the Lord of Light, but it does seem to have real power. I'm just wondering if it's a force for good or evil. At this point I assume it's some sort of force that may help against the white walkers in some way. Maybe. I'm a little suspicious though given what happened to Renly, The Spider and Gendry. I just wonder if this is some sort of force with it's own dark agenda. Too soon to be sure I guess.

    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
