All My Children Heads to Australia

TORONTO: The Fremantle Corporation has licensed the long-running daily drama All My Children to Seven Network's 7TWO digital channel in Australia, which will launch the show on January 18.

All My Children, created by Agnes Nixon, is set in a quiet suburban community, where everybody knows just about everything about everyone else. The show has been on the air since 1960 on ABC in the U.S., and has sold into more than 20 countries worldwide.

"Currently celebrating its 40th anniversary on ABC in the U.S., All My Children is generating much excitement," said Randy Zalken, the president of The Fremantle Corp. "Not only is the production moving to the West Coast, but it will now be available in true high definition for the first time ever. Several other markets have embraced this Agnes Nixon classic which always manages to stay fresh and current. A new North American Internet initiative embarked on in the last quarter is already expanding into other territories further enhancing the show's forward momentum. The Fremantle Corporation is honored to be representing this iconic series that garners such multi-generational viewer loyalty."

AMC will air at 1.00 pm following Jay Leno as part of a soap block .AMC is followed by Shortland Street,Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

In the morning its Sons and Daughters,Home and Away , Upstairs,Downstairs and Headland.

One TV guide describes AMC as follows:

The risk-taking soap that centres around Erica Kane and her long line of husbands.

Sadly didn't we read they'd start around the time of the Satin Slayer? LOL

The description for the first episode that will air is:

"Discovering Danielle unconscious on the floor, Josh frantically performs CPR while Babe calls 911. And it looks like Danielle's been poisoned. When Krystal talks to Colby about her time in prison, Colby and Sean decide to plead guilty. Just as Zarf (UGH!!!) apologises to Bianca for hurting her, the police arrive to arrest him!"

So that would be around early 2007, right?

God, they're desperate.

Yep that's the Satin Slayer story. At that point it didn't even seem liek McTavish cared anymore in her sick way--I remember some even thoughtmaybe she had left or knew she was being fired cuz even compared to some of the mess she had been doing the show was nonsensical--and SLOW.

Frons is only doing this to say AMC is OMG so popular and exciting, it's getting brought to other countries, look at it it's so shiny, now can we cancel OLTL? Aussies are not going to give a [!@#$%^&*] about the AMC of '07-'10.
