She's back! Constance Towers is returning as Port Charles's favorite murderous matriarch, Helena Cassadine. I love Constance Towers but I don't care about them using her to try to make me care about Niz. They seem to have no idea what to do with her -- Luke seems to look back fondly these days at her attempts to destroy his son and his family.

You have to think that Luke's amused approach to Helena will change. I think that Guza will use Helena to put Liz in danger so that Lucky will get involved in saving her, then again Constance Towers' last stint was promoted as a big deal though Helena didn't do anything much so this may be more of the same.

You're right, they will probably treat Helena more seriously now, since the golden boy JJ is back, but after the writing in the Ethan story I can never see her as a menace to the Spencers again.

I wish she could kidnap Lulu for a few years, then bring her back with a better actress.

I guess this will involve the big Cassadine/Spencer war, and the new Cassadines, and Valentin will change PC forever, and so on.

I think they are far more compelled by a Nik/Lucky feud than the viewers will ever be.

I have heard so much about this Cassadine/Spencer war that I know it will be a bust. Guza isn't going to make Nikolas who is a pet the bad guy so he will working with the Spencers to take down Valentin who will have a stupid plot. There were rumors that Valentin's daughter, Mischa was supposed to be for Lucky so we'll see if that happens.

Cassadine/Spencer war with no bad Cassadines except some newbie. IMO no war works without Stephan Nichols/Stefan yet Branco thinks this guy they have cast as Valentin is as good or better than SN. I haven't cared about the Cassadines in years and still don't care about the Spencers, JJ's Lucky or not.

Constance Towers is fabulous but she hasn't had a decent story on GH for years. She's putting curses on people or kidapping kids and she always fails. Blah

Branco is saying that this guy might be better than Stephen Nichols? Based on what? I can't remember any great acting from Matt Borelghni. Perhaps I missed his best years on AMC, I don't know. What I did see isn't that great. There was also his iconic role on B&B as "Ziggy". His best performance was in one of those Showtime or Skinemax things where he had sex with a blind woman.

Matt Borenghi is a strange choice to play Valentin. He is good looking, but not particularly talented. He doesn't bring any buzz. There are so many other more talented unemployed soap actors who would have been more suitable for the role. It makes me think that he got the role through friends/contacts at ABC.

I am glad that Helena is back. Constance is great. Hopefully they USE her this time...And I hope that the Cassadine/Spencer storyline is good, not a bust like so many think it will be.

I hope she kills Liz. After I read the things coming out of her mouth on yesterday's show, the character is basically dead.

Great news to hear that Constance Towers is returning to her role as the evil "Helena Cassadine" on General Hospital! I think that she does such an awesome job at playing an evil character so wonderful! She shares wonderful on screen chemistry with just about every single actor/character that Helena shares a scene with. The scenes in the past couple of years that Helena shares with Tony Geary's "Luke Spencer" have been wonderful to watch! They entice the audience with their wonderful chemistry, and the humorous lines that are written on the script! Welcome back Constance Towere as Helena Cassadine on General Hospital!

MB also has a decidedly Italian-American vibe imo, which isn't exactly interchangeable with the dark brooding Greek thing they've gone for when casting Cassadines in the past.

If that's their main criteria for casting, they could hire Joey Buttafucco as the new Mikkos.
