I hope the news about a Days renewal very soon is true. Their ratings success over the past year should get it done. I just hope it is more than a one year deal.

I don't know if he intentionally put such a horrible photo of Scott Reeves, but  And then he says Melissa Reeves should be a recast Heather on Y&R?:lol: She's, what, 42 years old? She may look good for her age, but really. I guess he's inspired by the too old recast of Adam.

Wasn't Davidson unpopular on Santa Barbara? I thought most fans didn't like her as Kelly. I'd like to see Stephen Nichols on a soap again but not Y&R, especially with Braeden back. They'd just dump him, only one alpha male is allowed.

Well, if Roger Howarth is impressed, then I KNOW I'm a fan...

Whatever they do for the new opening, I hope they drop the stupid bumper concept. I like the opening part with the old pics of Phoebe and Erica, and the pictures sort of exploding into the air, but I liked the previous opening better, which wasn't even two years old, right? The one with the characters' signatures. Only problem was the colors were a little too Sunset Beach, and with this move to California, I'm fearing that again.

They also need a stronger arrangement of the 90-95 theme, they need to go back to the "dunh-dunh-dunh-dunh-dunh-dunh", and have less of a new agey synthesized muzak instrumentation.

OLTL's the show that really needs the new opening, I would love to design that.

Wouldn't it be nice if they invited Julia Barr back for the 40th? -_-

I'm sure he's good, but you know how some people (especially drama queens in the biz) are, they just go overboard sometimes. Sometimes I think people are just sheep and they accept hype as fact, you know, like people who've seen maybe 1 1/2 Al Pacino movies, are told that what he does is the standard of "good", and just accept the "fact" that he's the greatest actor of his generation.

Then again, NB called the guy who played the producer of David's reality show on OLTL "super talented". <_< Uh, sure he's a good-looking guy, but super talented? Are we watching the same show?

I agree completely. To be honest, I don't think FMB should have ever retired the 1990-1995 theme, that was so iconic. The "Scrapbook" theme and sequence from 2002-2004 was one of my favorites. I would love a revival of that with all of those vintage photographs accompanied by the 1990-1995 arrangement.

Yes, I think that would be the perfect combination!

And really, the ORIGINAL falling pictures opening was so perfect, the wood, the knickknacks, I loved how the legacy characters (save for Mona, Myrtle, and Palmer) were all in frames at the beginning. I would go back to that one in a second, only thing I would change is having the pictures animated instead of stills this go round, add in some old photos (Phoebe, Mona, Myrtle, et cetera), the exploding photos thing, and maybe, just maybe, or at least for the week of anniversary shows, have the first shot be a hand opening the album, and last shot be the hand closing the album then a quick pull out to reveal that the hand belongs to Agnes Nixon, sitting in a chair by a fire in a cozy den, then ALL MY CHILDREN... created by Agnes Nixon (like OLTL does it).

Being realistic for a moment, I don't think AMC's "new" opening is going to be all that different.

All the ABC soap openings have the same basic format, so chances are it's still going to be characters posing against the black background. They just have to get rid of a lot of characters, add a couple of characters, and get rid of some of the background pictures (e.g. Jack and Erica on the beach, Zach and Kendall...)

I could actually see Pratt invoking his "consulting producer" credit and getting rid of the album, the flying photos, the old black & white photos of Phoebe et al, and the music, all of which I'm sure he hates.

It's probably just going to be what we have but without the AMC-specific elements.

I don't think that will happen. I actually have a feeling that the show might go back to the basics and not show any castmembers at all.... just the book. And I would be fine with that. Something simple and classic. The original theme would be great.

Though, I would love to see the return of the da, da, da, but JHC won't do it justice.

    • Brook Lynn has been working my last nerve for at least 2 weeks. I was so relieved when she blurted out her teen queen story to her grandmother who is the most wonderful person in the entire world!
    • Just caught up and these episodes were absolutely amazing! Ambyr Michelle was soooooooooo good, and I felt so bad for Eva, I actually teared up. I love that Andre was nice to her, that was my favorite Andre moment of the series thus far.

I don't need to warn you that if you like this & want to keep it download it. Now, isn't she positively amazing?!!! Well, IMO she is. This is only the first episode that I've got her in. I think there will be more.
    • All true, and all an enormous problem on this show. -- The business stories are maddening because none of it makes any sense, none of it has any connection to the real world. As you said, sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers, and job switching is not a storyline. -- The deck chairs are constantly rearranged on the Titanic -- that's what this show is. Summer, Chelsea, Sally, and Chloe have been in design for how long? And we've never seen ANYTHING from them. Carrying around an iPad isn't enough. BOLD is terrible, but at least they show us dresses from Kohls and jewelry from Amazon. -- I know it's baked into the DNA of the show, but I will never enjoy seeing Jabot and Newman treat each other as if no other companies exist in the entire world. A new magical line of cosmetics is not going to bring down a company like Jabot. -- This is a writing problem, not a budget problem. An enormous amount of cash is not needed to write compelling business stories and show real products. This is writer LAZINESS.
    • Right? GOD FORBID Vanessa be allowed to cut her own mother-in-law down to size, when REVA REVA REVA needs a rival to sharpen her claws on. RME I mean, they could have, but Long and Curlee (like most HW) seemed to forget about characters once they left town. If they mentioned Trish five times in the ten years she was gone, I'd be surprised.  Yeah, Alex didn't really do friendship, other than Lillian. And most of the time, Henry.  And somehow, by the time she leaves, Sonni is some friend of Mo's? Mo is just everyone's default "friend". SMH.
    • I really have no problem with Kai as a character or with the actor. The problem is putting together two very nice people -- Kai and Trina. Neither of them has a bad side, neither of them has a devil on the shoulder, neither of them is impulsive. I think that's a problem in a soap relationship. Yeah, I agree. All this freaking out might make sense if Lulu wanted to do a tabloid expose on BLQ's LOVE CHILD. We have no indication that's the case.
    • So Sonni would have somebody to talk to who she wasn't conspiring with (Will or Alan)? Alex kept telling Sonni how important her friends were...when she had virtually no friends. Instead they created loyal servants like Jane and Vera to give Alex people to play off of. They did that with Iris on AW, but Vivien was mostly there for comic relief Alex keeping Marah's paternity a secret was absurd. But I still love the scene between Alex and Alan where he convinces her by reminding her how they protected each other from their abusive father. Chris and Bev ATE that scene. Unfortunately, that took place only a few months before he exited the show...always thought they could have built on that, explored more how being Brandon's children screwed them both up. Maybe even used it as an explanation for the way their relationship could constantly swing from hatred to love. Instead of it being merely dictated by the plot.
    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
