Is there a place where people post soap fan art? I do a lot of quick sketches of characters and have wondered if I should ever share them. I'm a sucker for both mob-tied and historical characters, so I love the Sentells. I did a quick drawing of 1930s Mignon and Rusty Sr. tonight. Again, never know where or if to share things like this. :)

They often end up as quick one-minute sketches throughout my week.

Sometimes with some humor.

What does Henderson mean to me? | Search for Tomorrow - YouTube

This is such a simple and pure speech, so suited to Jo and to Mary Stuart. Political stories on soaps often go haywire with so many errors and nonsensical details like gun battles and international cartels. I wish they'd done more with Jo's political career. There's a very sincere "end of the dream" spirit here so typical of the mid/late '70s, especially when Jo breaks out her guitar:

This clip is compelling because you get to see just what a stacked cast the show had at the time, even just sitting in the audience.

This is such a lovely set of scenes, summarizing Jo's life in Henderson through the campaign ad (also a way to showcase her life to new viewers), seeing her friends praise her in the ad. Then showing them reacting to her ad, Jo reacting to her ad. Stephanie making annoyed faces and little digs, which is so realistic for what you do when someone you can't stand is being feted. And I suppose this is also tied to the impending end of her marriage.

Seeing little Suzi praising Jo reminds me of how in Jo's final story, when she was kidnapped by Ann Flood, she flashed back to an emotional scene she'd had with Suzi. I still don't know why they thought they needed to kill Suzi off.

I was going through some of that kidnapping story and it's much more violent than I had expected - Ann pushing Stu down scaffolding, Jo punching Ann and holding her at gunpoint, Ann jumping off scaffolding, Jo getting knocked out, etc. They played it well, but who was asking to see Jo and Stu in a Charles Bronson movie?

This is another gorgeous scene. Jo and Stu truly had one of the best friendships ever on soaps. And the scene is over 6 minutes long! What a lost world.

I wish this channel had shared more content.

They truly did.

Perhaps it's just because the videotape is old, but SFT's scenes don't appear to be lit as brightly as the other CBS soaps from that period were, with Y&R being the notable exception.

Honestly, John and Stephanie's marriage deserved to die. Stephanie tried to help Jennifer end his marriage to Eunice with that cockamamie rapist/stalker story, and what's her payback? She wins the guy! LOL!

I think this aired during Peggy O'Shea's 18mo stint as HW

Thanks. I never can remember the timelines, other than the Corringtons arriving.

Never mind, you were referring to the Inn sequences.

The Corringtons did the town council story. They brought on Ted Adamson, who was Jo's opponent in the race. Adamson was looking to develop some property and thought being on town council would make the process go smoother. This is why Jo keepsreferencing not wanting Henderson to change. Also, Sunny Adamson, Travis Sentell, Bobby Stuart, and Marc D'Antoni were all Corrington cast additons.

It was jarring to see Marcia McCabe hanging all over Christopher Goutman as I don't know if they wereinvolved offscreen yet. Goutman was a decent enough actor. He is laid back here and very frantic in the little bit I've seen of him as George St. John in the final year of Texas.

Jo remains on the council through at least 1984 or maybe into 1985. It was one of the reasons she was involved in the intiial TR story as it intersected with some of the Brian's work in the police department and she had tries to the council. I remember at least once in the late fall of either 1984 or 1985 Jo was "off at a council meeting." I do think it would have been interesting to have made that an important part of the flood story with Jo handling the government end. Maybe she did and I forget.

Thanks for the extra detail. I had just assumed she'd only served briefly as usually happens on soaps.

From these bits it seems like they tried to integrate Travis into the core of the show in a way I didn't quite see by the early '80s.

Speaking of Marcia, someone in the comments for one of the videos mentioned that she and Mary were close. If true that was nice to know.

Marcia is such a unique presence. I'm sorry she never replicated her success at Search but at least she got 8 years as Sunny.

That does seem odd. I wonder if the idea was meant to be she got what she wanted and then didn't want it. You can feel how old Val Dufour seems by this time compared to the rest of the cast, which probably didn't help him stay on the canvas.
