So, to update: I have replied to Syracuse & set them to search, describing the scene, the only scene of interest, with only Scott & Kathy, his proposal of marriage & her telling him of her abortion the day before.  And, I noted, of course, that what we're after, is the date. And, thanks again both to @will81who was the one who came up with the script showing that Erica went to New York state & to @JAS0N47for the Syracuse Ralph Ellis collection resource.

@hendersonite Thanks for reminding us of Kylie.

I suspect Henry Slesar's stint at SFT was always intended as short term.

The Corringtons had been hired by P&G to study their soaps and write some treatments. They might have not been the only ones so it was quite possible that Slesar was there until decisions were made about which  writers would go where.

Once the Corringtons arrived,Chance,Donna and Kylie were dropped.

I would love to get my hands on SFT scripts by Henry Slesar and also know the exact time period and length of his tenure. I believe it was six months and he may have taken over from Robert J. Shaw. Also, whether or not he had any script writers helping him.

NY Public Library has the following scripts:

https://archives.nypl.org/the/22743

The scripts, dating from 1975 to 1989, number over one hundred and are from three television soap operas: All My Children, One Life To Live, and Search For Tomorrow. The All My Children scripts mostly date from 1989, while the other two sets date primarily from 1979 to 1980. Eighty-two of scripts are from One Life To Live, 33 from Search For Tomorrow, and 16 from All My Children. The runs of scripts within date ranges are not comprehensive.

Also, longtime script writer, Jean Rouverol, donated tons of scripts to a Wyoming arts institution as follows. The description of her is interesting. It mentions that she was at one point co-head writer of GL. She also donated two boxes of SFT 1974-75 scripts. I didn't realize she had been a SFT script writer. I believe Ann Marcus was head writer during that time.    https://archiveswest.orbiscascade.org/ark:80444/xv536035

Abstract: The papers, mainly 1970 to 1990, consist primarily of scripts, correspondence, publications and administrative documents pertaining to several daytime television series written by Frank and Doris Hursley, and by their daughter Bridget Dobson and her husband Jerome Dobson. The series included are As the World Turns, Bright Promise, General Hospital, Guiding Light, Heritage, One Life to Live, Santa Barbara, and Search for Tomorrow. Also included are miscellaneous television and radio stories and personal papers from both the Hursleys and the Dobsons.

Abstract: Variant scripts for several television programs produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble, including soap operas, The Guiding Light (1958-1979) and As the World Turns (1956-1962, 1965, 1971, 1973-1979), as well as television shows, The Danny Thomas Show (1959-1960; previously titled Make Room for Daddy) and The Rifleman (1958-1959). Most of the scripts are mimeographed air scripts including scripts for commercials. Many are annotated to indicate timing and dialogue changes. Also included are some production records including files from 1958 to 1975 of Lucy Ferri Rittenberg of the Compton Advertising Agency, who served as production executive for The Guiding Light, and files from 1955 to 1957 of Charles Fisher, the account executive at Benton and Bowles who produced As the World Turns.

OMG!!! What a treasure trove.

While I was looking up something else I came upon Schemering's mention of Slesar at SFT but it is not encouraging.

and here he rattles off the names of no fewer than 8 people. Among them Ann Marcus, Gabrielle Upton, Peggy O'Shea and finally ending with Henry Slesar & then in parentheses

Then a statement about the ratings fluctuating this whole time culminating in the hiring of the Corringtons.

Now, back to the reason I was perusing Schemering early this morning:

Of course he does not give a date.
