Many interesting observations in Wednesday's show.

1. I am a big fan of the Scoobies...but you know...I saw that yellow jumpsuit and I sighed. And then I got confused. Because Daniel's bail hearing was last week, so I wasn't even sure why he was relevant to this one. And I did see that moment where Amber googled herself ("Internet Search") and decided that this was all about her. I didn't understand her logic then, and I don't understand it now. I also kind of hoped Kevin really was walking the path of righteousness now...but...with the blackout and the evidence theft...it seems unlikely.

I really want to get to know these four. I guess we know Kevin pretty well. But the other three...I don't know what makes them tick. And that is a missed opportunity, I think. I really am a fan of "capers", but I think maybe this quad needed something different for a change.

2. I have no reservations about Devon or Tyra. This was the best stuff Tyra has done on the show--ever.

And I like that she sort of explained her adolescent take on things. "Arrested development"...in the sense that she lost her childhood when she adopted Ana. That was like an "aha" click!

3. I continue to find Kay's TIA plausible and interesting...but if it was just a device to make Jill feel rejected once again...I'm less happy.

The truth is that I wish these women would admit they love and hate each other, and go from there. We UNDERSTAND the complexity of it. So I wish we could move past all the "Send in the Clown" moments, and actually play the next chapter of this with them.

That said, Walton remains amazing. Such pain.

But when Jill accused Kay of faking her TIA...well...that is ludicrous. Jill would actually have instantly slipped into concern and love. They tried to play that with Neil (where she started feeling guilty and he tried to calm her), but she would have instantly switched to love.

This is the second chemistry test with Jill-Neil...and I liked this one a lot. Being strong and firm for Jill (no pun intended) could be just the character remediation Neil needs!! Bravo to Neil for how he handled Tyra!

I do wish that--since Summer is in the same hospital at the same time...even the same floor and wing as near as I can tell...that the two story groups could have intersected today.

But why did Murphy have to be so ineffectual. He's not educated, but he's a smart veteran and businessman. He shouldn't have called Mac for help...he should have sprung into action and called 911.

4. I did not like Billy Miller in the church. Too many tics, too many eye rolls. But I loved Mac. CF can do the sad emotions instantly with her eyes.

And honestly, I'd love to see a Billy-Mac reunion. I'd love to see how it DOESN'T repair Billy...and how Chloe turns into an avenging angel...and how Delia keeps pulling at Billy's heart...and how Mac realizes that she still carries unresolved issues from Ralph and Amanda...and until she deals with them, she will never be a good partner for anyone.

5. I watched Amber in LA. She didn't do that much terrible stuff. I realize she did more after she left the show...somehow she ended up in Vegas with Plum/Carson and internet porn and some drugs too...but I hate that she's being written like she had some horrific past.

We saw that past...we know her backstory (at least the B&B viewers do), and it is not that awful.

6. Was I the only one surprised that Devon was having sex?

Word! I just finished watching it. I was glued to my TV for the entire episode. Josh was pretty good in the scenes with Nick/Victor, Nick/Jack. But the star of the episode was MJ/Stacey H. I loved her scenes. I'll post more tomorrow when it airs in the US.

I understand that they need to use a lot of the same sets from episode to episode, and I'm fine with people being in the chapel. Doesn't mean they have to actually pray every frigging time they're in there. LOL!

Imagine if Billy had a friend. He could have said all the same things with a "talk-to". Moreover, though I wouldn't say they were friends, friendship could have developed by now between Billy & JT. That would then provide a use for JT.

Miller doesn't pray well :).

"What???! Amber's a whore!??? NOOOOOOOO!" - says boy-scout porn loving Daniel Romalotti.

Devon's getting some? HA! I found Adam having sex with Rafe more natural.

Billy and Mac - I'd love it if after Billy and Mac finally have sex, he says, "Well, I'm glad we did that. Took a while, huh? Well I gotta be going, see ya!" cue Mac's face of horror, and bam - Mac's a lesbian. Just like that!

LMAO at the bolded part.

No, I have to say, I thought Devon's girl looked nice in that shirt...I just wish we'd gotten to see some of the relationship.

I don't want Mac as a lesbian. I really, really like CF. She's like a wounded bird I want to nurture. I want to see Mac find love with a great guy.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
