But that's exactly what I mean.

Do you want more black characters like Lily on Y&R or do you want more urban characters? What kind of stories do you want these characters in? More interracial romances, more supporting stories, more lead stories? Do you want to see Devon and Tyra together in a relationship?

I hate asking these questions like Sylph, but I truly want to know.

I'd rather see the Winters written out with maybe Neil there as a supporting figure or used in a triangle or romance with Victoria or Nina.

I think I want some kind of mix going on here. The best thing they could do is hire a black writer to help out. I wish that they had given VR her shot or even SHE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED. My preference is to have realistically written upper class black characters on the show. Devon should have more of an edge without it being some sort of caricature. And I do think the Winter's should be lead, but without Dru and in the current form, it would be a disaster.

So Victor catches Adam and just leaves him there? Even if he suspected him, he should have taken some action. Take the damn laptop, for chrissakes.

It's this kinda bullsh!t that makes me question this show.

I know. But, also, dumbass Victor has it coming and I'm glad Adam got away with it because the Tache has an ALMIGHTLY karmic bitch-punch coming his way. Did you see the way he treated Mary Jane in Monday's episode? He has totally ruined this woman's face, life and sanity. Just to get one over Jack! And now he wants to discard her like a kleenex. The hooker analogy that Gloria & Jeffrey think they are on to is very apropos. It's not that MJ is a hooker or acts/looks like one. It's that Victor is essentially her pimp, pulling her strings and then smacking her down when she doesn't follow orders.

But how does a show, especially a show like Y&R, solve the diversity problem without making them seem like walking stereotypes, but at the same time, not essentially "whitewashing" or segregating them?

It's easy to say, "Why not view them as characters instead of African-American characters," when a large portion of the audience hates that PC bullshit when people forget about race. They don't view Lily as a black character because of Christel Khalil's diction and attitude, but also the fact that she has yet to be paired with another black character. But Lily is, as far as I'm concerned, "fully integrated," even if I don't personally feel she represents the Winters family.

But at the same time, I don't want to be preached to either with characters seeing campy crap like "N***** GET LOST" spraypainted on the walls of a house for sale.

Race issues would be disastrous in the hands of this writing regime, who are clearly scared of or simply not interested in writing for African-Americans.

Sarah Buxton for Phyllis!

The problem with CK Lily is that it doesn't feel like she's even related to her uncle/stepfather Niel. They could have just change her character name to Pamela Jones or something. & get rid of the Winters. This way CK is a stand alone character with no ties to anybody black.

I just cannot wrap my mind around the fact that they had the perfect opportunity to have Billy shirtless and they made a point of not doing it. Hell, I'm not into Cane, but I bet the Lane fans think he's hot shirtless. Alvin is right. This show is F%$ked up!!

Not at all. He's too young for me, but that is not the point. There are probably lots of teen girls who want to see Devon shirtless.

Do I detect some feelings for Chloe coming from Billy? I think I do and I like it. Wouldn't it be something if Mac decided to go for him and he ended up choosing Chloe in the long run.

Sure...she was fun and funny and sexy...Billy just didn't want to be a married daddy, and he has this fantasy of "the one that got away".

If Chloe is unavailable, Billy (like all guys) will get more interested...but she's still his "Diane Jenkins". Nobody he's going to get serious about. I don't even believe he cares much about Delia.
