May 17, 200916 yr Member I was just wondering what do you think CBS will replace Guilding Light with a game show or talk show? And what person will they get to host it?
May 17, 200916 yr Member Hate game shows - no matter what show they replace GL - I will not watch - may watch a GL tape or go online and watch a GL classic - if GL goes to a new home I will follow the show there.
May 17, 200916 yr Member CBS should ask the Bells to do another soap - 1/2 hour in the B&B vein - and ask for part ownership the way ABC has of its soaps.

May 17, 200916 yr Member I want two game shows. Of the titles being thrown around, I'd most like a new Let's Make a Deal with a new incarnation of Pyramid. I'd love it if they somehow got the rights from GSN to produce new episodes of "Chain Reaction," hosted by the DELICIOUS Dylan Lane.
May 17, 200916 yr Member Not going to happen, but I'd like to see another half-hour soap, with input from Claire Labine, who really loved the half-hour format and blames going to an hour for the downhill slide of daytime.
May 17, 200916 yr Member Talk about innovation-retreads of 2 game shows. The only thing they have going for them is they'll be cheaper than GL.Otherwise I can't see the ratings or demos improving.

That show has been incarnated way too many times. So wasnt sure who Dylan Lane was so had to google him....very nice Edited May 17, 200916 yr by Ruxton Hills
May 18, 200916 yr Member I would love a new Let's Make a Deal but no to another Pyramid. That show has been incarnated way too many times. So wasnt sure who Dylan Lane was so had to google him....very nice IDK....I think Pyramid is one of those shows that can only survive when it's around other game shows. And plus, the only times it has been successful is when Dick Clark is hosting (except for Bill Cullen's syndicated version in the 70s). Maybe it wouldn't work all that well. I don't know about LMAD either. The *only* way that it would work, IMO, is if they intentionally made it retro in style and tone. A show like that...based mainly around grocery store items, with other large household prizes (stoves, living rooms, kitchens, washing machines, TV sets, etc)...seems sort of outdated now. The Price is Right stayed stuck in the 70s stylistically until Drew took over, so I think it would be interesting if a new Let's Make a Deal came on, with purposely 70s decor and Monty Hall as host. They would have to make room for it in the morning, though, because that would NEVER fly in GL's timeslot.
May 18, 200916 yr Member They tried to update let's make a deal a few years ago with Billy Bush as the host and it failed miserably. I don't see either of these games shows working.
May 18, 200916 yr Member Instead of CBS replacing GL with game shows, maybe they should replace it with an Entertainment Tonight type show called "Why the soaps are dying?" hosting by Jean Passanante.
May 18, 200916 yr Member Nobody is going to watch or record a tacky game show that replaces GL and lot of viewers will not be watching CBS soaps 9/21/09.
