:o How did you guess?

Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind seeing Brittany back, and I'd love Christine to return!

Bring on both Brittany and Christine! :)

[DeeDeee mode on]No and Yes[/DeeDeee mode off]

Keep this up and I'll have to think up the Brittany equivalent of ostriches. Some creature that rides a pole...

Seriously for a minute though...

This canvas is soooooooooooo overstuffed. I really don't want to see another return...not even a short term one...until about 15 contract players (not exaggerating) are sent out of town. (None killed).

They can always come back when story requires. I'm fine with shifting folks on and off contract as story dictates...though I realize this has not been the norm.

But so many characters need more attention...the kinds of conversations we've been talking about... It is appalling that JT hasn't interacted with Mac, and that Kevin has had so few scenes with her. Heck, I want to see Kay and Mac have lots of simple conversations where they "catch up" and exchange feelings.

Without significant house cleaning (and I don't mean this backburnering...we really need to be shown that these folks are gone for a while, so we stop expecting stories for them).

Right now, and you'll be appalled that I'm saying this, but I think the Fisher-Baldwins, JT/Victoria, possibly Nikki/Paul all need to be rotated off for a while. They can all come back when story requires. Just having these people languish with 4-8 appearances a month is just criminal, and it creates this sense that they are "neglected".

And she would be welcomed by me. :D

Not by me! The only time I enjoyed watching the bug was when she was being terrorized by Michael. CreepyBeardedMichaelFanForever.

My nightmare...since Cashton says Y&R reads this board...is that someone starts a BEATING OF THE DRUMS post for this.

My utter nightmare. I get sweats.

Swear to God, that is mine, too. I am convinced that all the Brittany-hogging precipitated declines in viewing figures, LML's arrival and Jack Smith's departure. Convinced.

Never do I want that Swiss Miss Stripperella darkening Y&R's door again. If the show wants a sexy, curvacious 20-something babe, might I suggest Sophia Loren-alike Adrianne Leon? Somebody here has the most gorgeous avatar of her rocking the dark shades and long, glossy hair.

These writers seem to have this stragedy when it comes to story telling: A story arc is somehow conjured up; the story mainly includes specific characters then the story is written in cycles. It begins with one character's POV as the focal point for one cycle then it spins into another mainly featured character's POV for another cycle. I believe why MAC/JT hasn't interacted yet is because the show is just about to begin to focus on MAc's POV so I am sure that will be touched on in upcoming weeks. It seems so far in this story it started off with the introduction of a basic structure of Billy/Mac/Chloe set up, then we started to spin into "Billy's World." I have no idea why that approach is taken, but I find it interesting. This however seems to mean that the pacing will be errr affected

It took me a long time to warm to her, but then I loved her pouty sullenness. I loved that she was a perfect mix of Traci and Brad...physically and emotionally. The insecurity, the belligerence.

Honestly, I really liked Lyndsy Fonseca, because that early romance with JT was so sweet and had such a terrific beat when Kevin tried to deep-fry her (JT carrying her out!!!). But I had come to totally accept Leon's Colleen. I loved the clearly brewing chemistry with Kevin...these two damaged people starting to connect. It worked.

Since Leon sings, that would also pick up another theme from Traci.

This is a very interesting observation. For me, the missing link is this: I'm all about patience, but right now there are stories that CRY OUT for total front-burner attention. (Not to be rushed, but to be savored almost every day). Adam. Patty Jane. Phillip.

All three are being doled out with slow teases...at most 2-3 days a week. Am I greedy to want more?

When these stories hit a crescendo, I'd like them to dominate.

That is what I mean about the canvas being too big. I'd like to focus on the hot stories, and not be so distracted. Then, the next crew can have their day.

OT (and IA with your post, BTW. It presents an interesting slant to the plotting) but strategy + tragedy = stragedy. I love how you have accidentally come up with this new great word! I only wish my typos were this ingenious.

I don't think it is greed, the definite flaw with the approach is the pacing. I don't get why the approach is taken, I don't necessarily mind the idea in itself but it affects pacing negatively many times and it is a stand out flaw when it does.

I agree with this.

No one is saying: Bring even more characters and hog the screen. We're saying kill these boring, dull, awful characters (Mac) and bring back more interesting ones!

I would send Nikki to Mars for about two or three years, JT is useless, so is Paul and Fisher-Baldwins are... Well, you know.

Send them all off screen. :)
