When CLB kept Michael's hissy fits at bay, he was very, very convincing as a straight man. His obsession with Christine is legendary and when I was watching the Alden years with absolutely NO knowledge of the actors or their personal lives (as well as no spoilers ), I had no idea. I think our knowledge of his sexuality, plus the fact that no-one's bothered to tell him to tone it down is coloring perceptions a little too much.

So, Wednesday's US episode used a lot of nice music cues, and some old Cassie flashbacks that I remember vividly.

I think they used a new music cue, in conjunction with an old one. I don't think I've ever heard the one that played during the Jack and Phyllis scene tomorrow.

Here's a clip of Wednesday's US episode with the Sharon, Nick, Jack, and Phyllis scenes.

The Jack and Phyllis scene with the music cue I'm talking about plays 2:35 in. I quite like it and its very suspenseful. Again, they used it in conjunction with a cue they use all the time. Or, it could just be a more extended version of this commonly used music cue.

ETA: They also used what I believe is Nick and Sharon's theme during the Cassie flashback scenes, which is one of my favourite music cues.

OMG. OMG, I love her. LOVE her!

If I wasn't before, I am now a bonafide Tricia Cast/Nina fan.

I hope TPTB write for her. I always thought the way Alden and/or Smith just stopped featuring her was cold.

thanks, dmarex! Wasn't sure when it was. I know it involved a novel and Francisco Quinn. An "island" story in that it had little-to-no impact on anywhere else on the canvas.

I can understand that TC has made her life in another state, though, and can only show up once in a while. Like Beth Maitland (who I wish was on contract!). I sort of hope Nina can establish the kind of links Traci has so that when she returns now and then, it is like a familiar face returning home.

Actually it was Kay Alden who gave Nina a new purpose with the Tomas story and revisiting Rose DeVille after she was moved to being Cricket's sound board and the Ex-Mrs. McNeil during the last Bill Bell days and early in Alden's tenure.

That said, Tricia Cast is fabulous: it doesn't happen very often that a young girl is cast for a throwaway role but makes such a lasting impression on of the greatest impressarios so that he eventually brings her back and makes her a main character. Cast did exactly that back in the 80s.

And with Nina, Paul and Thom Bierdz on the canvas only one person is missing... :P

Francesco had chops. The story didn't go anywhere, but Francesco could have been the real deal.

At that point, Cast had met her real life partner, and she simply wanted to stop. The show tried to renew her (she is a friend-of-Bells), but she needed to move on. No harm/no foul on Y&R's part.

Christine. By me too.

But all this talk of bringing back veterans makes me very nervous. Therefore, I feel the need to reiterate: But with Bill-Mac-JT-

on canvas, DON'T GET ANY FUNNY IDEAS.
