Thank you for linking that. She really was a fresh-faced pretty girl in those cult days. And Doug! I have in mind to scan in a bunch of old photos...if I get some time....

To me..... it doens't seem like it's right to be calling these negotiations "pay cuts", not when it's simply wanting an actor to work less for less money. For someone like Meldoy Thomas, her husband is employed, makes alot of money, why wouldn't she want to have a little extra time off? I think what they should do with highly paid vets in these economic times it ROTATE them, take 3 or 4 of them, drop them to recurring for a year... then bring them back on contract and front burner the NEXT year, and rotate others out. Of course, you could always fire all the hair and makeup people (There are 4 of them!) and make the actors do their own. Maybe they'd be more receptive to doing their own hair/makeup than a reduction of their guarantee? Braeden's salary is a huge drain on this show, and I it's a complete outrage that he makes more than Cooper, who has 7 years seniority over him. We could always do something rash, and finally have Jack murder Victor... you could dump 2 vets in one shot.

This morning I woke up, decided I wanted MTS to leave those ingrates at Y&R.

I want her at B&B as Beth Logan. Then she is again Heather Tom's momma...and for the first time, Flannery would have a REAL rivalry for "Eric". And watching MTS and Gareis go head to head again (this time though as mother-daughter) fighting for honey bear...I'm there. And MTS' Beth could also get a little hot for Brill Spencer.

It works for me.

I wish I could retitle this thread: "Bring Melody Thomas Scott to B&B as Beth Logan".

I swear I am not saying this to go against the grain...but...

No offense to any Y&R fans, but I don't want any more of those rejects(behind or in front of the scenes)stinking up Los Angeles. The ones we have on the show now do nothing in terms of story and they are ALL phoning it in. I know the stories suck pretty bad, but damn, when did Heather Tom start sleepwalking through her scenes?

I know Y&R and B&B have a very sister-show relationship with one another, and I have enjoyed alot of the crossovers through the years. But if/when B&B is really good, it doesn't need to lean on Y&R for anything.

Not to mention I don't want any more of B&B's production quality sacrificed for a big name like MTS. The money they use to pay her could easily be spent on paying cast/crew to arrive earlier or stay later to focus on more rehearsing and doing additional takes.

No it wasn't. It wasn't always like that. There are plenty of stories/events that were good in the 00's that didn't require Y&R's talent. i.e. Ridget, Macy coming back from the dead in Portifino, Stephanie's faked heart attack, Thorne leaving Forrester to join Spectra, Shane's Death, even Darla getting hit by a car on PCH(even though that is ridiculously unbelievable that Taylor, of all people, would be the one to hit her when there are so many nutsos driving the streets that would have plowed into her AND Phoebe first), Storm's Suicide. And there are other bright spots/stories too.

But it's her job to act and make sense of the stories. Part of what made some of these actors shine in really great and really crappy stories is the acting, no matter how lightning paced they were. If she's not feeling it, maybe she should be like Engen and peace out.

No one's talking about 00. But I also object to the following reasoning: B&B went downhill when Y&R "rejects" came in. No. One has nothing to do with the other, writing cannot go downhill just because you add new cast. The fact that Bardley Bell wasn't able to write anything digestible for these people all the more exposes how terrible his writing became.

Yes and...

... a decisive NO. An actor to make sense of a cr*ppy story? Please! How does that happen? Has it ever happened? If it's cr*p on paper, it'll be cr*p on screen. There's only so much "elevation of material" an actor can do.
