Looks like Parenthood will no longer be premiering on 9/23, as scheduled. A press release came out the other day, discussing an unknown medical issue pertaining to Maura Tierney. Production is closed down for eight weeks while she undergoes medical evaluation.

Mercy, which was to premiere in the same slot as Parenthood during mid season, is now getting the Fall slot, and Parenthood is pushed back.

I hope all is well with MT...but I must be honest and say that eight weeks for medical evaluation does make this seem serious.

Poor Maura. I hope everything works out for her, that she's okay, and that she'll be back with the show.

Maura Tierney has dropped out of Parenthood to focus on her cancer treatment. According to Hollywood Reporter, the role will be recast.

Loved Parenthood.

Loved the 1990s version of the series.

Loved ER.

Loved Maura Tierney.

I was fixing for this to be my new favorite show.

Now, with Helen Hunt...the only thing that will make me tune in is Peter Krause, I think. But I'll try not to judge without seeing.

i love Helen Hunt and am not a fan of MT at all from what i seen on ER, so i would be happy if Helen got the job.

I don't think I'll be watching this show - 1st turnoff: fifty fifth time the movie has been made into a TV series; 2nd turnoff: Peter Krause.
