Y&R: The Brooks Sister's

She didn't have a lot to do the first few years. She was the tomboyish, teenage sister.

Then she moved into the story with George Curtis and it was a big one. She was the 2nd big rape story that Bell did in the early years.

Then she left town for several years and the original actress Pamela Peters returned to the role.

And again she had a big story - the triangle with Steve Williams and Jack Abbott.

Then again she left town.

Patricia Everly also played Peggy. This was around the time Jill was married to Stuart-1979.

I have never seen her listed in cast lists.

Wow. I have zero recollection of that. How short was the stint?

IMO, J. Eddie Peck was one of the most craptacular actors to ever be featured on Y&R...

A rare point of agreement.

I had never thought that Dr. Bruce Henderson was Liz (Henderson) Foster's brother. BTW Bill Bell used the name Liz Henderson once again for his blue-collar matriarch on B&B. Brooke's mother Beth Logan maiden name was Henderson and Eric used to call her Liz when they were young. She even had a bible with the name Liz Henderson on it.

I never understood what Peggy Brooks did on Y&R for almost ten years. For the synopses I have read I understand that she was involved with George Curtis and Steve Williams. That was it?

Don't forget Jack Abbott! He is what infused energy into that pairing with Steve...including her famous wedding vows:

"Do you, Peggy Brooks, take this man Steve Williams, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I.....can't!" (and then a long, slow walk down the aisle, and away from all the stunned guests).

Don't forget that Peggy, with Steve, was an investigative journalist during the New World cult saga. And when cult-leader Simiko figured out she was a reporter, she had her drugged and tied up in the back shed. When Paul (with Steve) finally found and rescued her, she was covered in crawling rats. Classic scene!

Patricia Everly was on for awhile.

As I referred to above Pamela Peters left and then returned later when Peggy was involved with Steve and Jack.

Patricia Everly played Peggy through the whole George Curtis story. She was the one who was playing Peggy during the rape story I think.

Both editions of The Soap Opera Encyclopedia list Pamela Peters staying from 1973 to 1981 with Patricia Everly only being on for a short time in 1979 but I have a daytime TV magazine from 1978 that lists Patricia Everly as Peggy.

So I am not sure exactly how long she was on the role.

I know a big deal was made out of Pamela Peters return to the role and it was indicated onscreen that Peggy had been away for quite awhile when she returned.

I know my sister and I talked about how much Peters had changed during her time off the show. She was much prettier and more feminine when she came back - less tomboyish. We thought they were going to pair her with Greg Foster at first but then they moved her in the direction of STeve Williams and Jack Abbott.

I remember Peters doing the rape storyline. And I definitely remember her being the character with Anthony Herrera.

Does anyone have a pic of Everly, especially from that era?

Yes, Peters was definitely cute/sexy (in a pixieish way) when she returned. I remember she'd added a husband's name when she returned...Solow???

You are probably right and my mind is playing tricks on me.

I have a picture of Everly somewhere in a magazine. I will see if I can find it but don't hold your breath LOL
