You & EFulton have the situation well in hand.

I have been meaning for a few days to make this post. I know that some of you know but maybe not everyone does.

In 1999, 2000 & 2001, some of us, AW fans, raised money to get a Central Park Bench. The fan who spearheaded this effort put it this way. To provide a permanent memorial site that could be visited. It took us that long to come up with $5000 & that next year when we got together, which we did in June 2000 & 2001. We held a dedication ceremony.

There is a plaque. There are step by step directions. People go & while there, they take a picture & send it to me.

But, my friend Barry even made an appt with Lemay. They met at his apartment & he signed some books. Then they walked to a nearby restaurant, ate., more talk, went back & stayed just a little longer.

Some people find it highly offensive when people share performers' personal medical information regardless of their age. Others do not find it highly offensive. The forum moderators/owners could make a decision on this and then people could abide by whatever decision they make. This would prevent a lot of problems, and it would keep this discussion thread from getting locked down when the the disagreements get too heated. They may have already made a decision and I did not notice.

I too find it highly offensive.  But guess what I do, when I read a post that offends me. . .

Which actor playing Russ Matthews was the best? And why?

Which of Ada's four husbands did you prefer? And why?

Which of the original Frame siblings was your favorite? (Original meaning Steve's generation of siblings). And why?

Who was your favorite of Bay City's many attorneys -- John Randolph, Walter Curtain, Cass Winthrop, Brian Bancroft, Michael Randolph, Mike Bauer, Mitchell Dru, etc.  And  why?

I wanted to be able to choose either Richard Bekins or Stephen Yates. What does a girl have to do around this joint to get a question asked that she actually wants to answer!!!

Oh, crap, Cass, of course.

Gwen was kinda cool.

Did anyone really buy those romances with Ada?

LOL.  Oh, I forgot to ask about everyone's favorite Jamie.  That will be the next episode.

And Gwen was an architect, not a lawyer. But I agree, she was cool.

I didn't really buy into Ada's romance with Charlie Hobson.  But the others all worked for me.  Especially Gerald Davis.

Gwen is a Frame.

By marriage.  She is not a Frame sibling.  The question was "Which of the original Frame siblings was your favorite?"

Gwen married a Frame -- Willis.  She was not one of the Frame siblings.  Her single name was Gwen Parish.  She came from a wealthy family in Manhattan who were acquainted with Mac and Iris when they all lived in NYC.   I'm sure you remember that.

How is it unfair?  He wrote the birth of Amanda so therefore he is the original creator of the character.  Sure subsequent writers developed her personality and in some cases changed it.

Unfair only in the sense that the writing about the character Amanda at the time she was created was really about Rachel and Mac and Iris. And in that sense was it any more meaningful than saying that Donna Swajeski created the Red Swan?

It's not a major issue or anything, just idle musing about the significance of creating a character as opposed to writing for a character.

To me, Sam Groom was the only "real" Russ. He perfectly delineated and inhabited the role. He somehow managed to play a good, noble man of integrity...who was never boring or one-dimensional.

I think of all of them (Ada sure got around, LOL), Gil McGowen had the most personality and spunk.

While Steve made some terrible life choices and could exhibit questionable morality during his 1968-75 run, he was the Frame who made the biggest and most important impact on the show. The original Janice was too mousy to interest me much, and while Willis originally had spark, I mainly regarded him as "Steve lite."

Uncle Dru was a familiar face and comforting presence, and I liked having him around as a supporting player. I was invested in Mike Bauer as well, but mainly from his time on TGL. Of all the lawyers mentioned, even though some said he was somewhat stodgy, John Randolph was my favorite. (The scene in which he served Alice her divorce papers from Steve was quite memorable.)

Thinking about starting this soap, and don't know where/how to start!

Personally I would start with the earliest episodes available.  But I understand you may want to start with consistent episodes. I can DM you some playlists if you are interested.

In my opinion Fall of 1988 through the end of 1994 are the last good years of Another World. A large number of those episodes are available.

That would be wonderful, thank you. 🤍
