Constantly repeating a futile agenda to get a dead actress an Emmy is spamming. No wonder the number of signers don’t increase. The more you spam, the more people don’t care. The agenda isn’t working.

NATAS isn’t listening.

Gosh, you defy intelligent thought. Obviously 1300 signatures is an incredible number and definitely does show growth. And, no, of course NATAS doesn't know anything about this yet. It won't be delivered to them until the petition drive is ended in a declaration of victory. Why don't you consider posting about something that you actually know about? Just a suggestion.

Three hundred million people in this country alone and 1300 signatures to get Beverlee McKinsey a dead Emmy is considered a success? lol We can see how this will end. When this is presented to NATAS, they will laugh and throw it out. Guaranteed.

Did any other shows (or movies) have similar openings that would provide insight into how it was done, I wonder?

The weekly "ABC Movie of the Week" had an opening that was vaguely similar, although faster-moving and more colorful.  Didn't that premier around 1969?  Something tells me that opening did use computer animation.  But I'm only speculating.

NATAS doesn’t award posthumous Emmys 30 years later. And even if they did, Beverlee McKinsey would not be an Emmy Award Winning actress. She didn’t ‘win’ a competition. Stupid campaign in my opinion. 1300 signatures? That’s it?????? But what can you expect from someone who fought to save Another World? lololololol

The circle of rings motif was something AW should have kept in the later openings.

The 82 opening kept it at the beginning which was great but that should have been the main theme. The silhouetted 'lovers' was lame and I didn't really like the block letters.

Then the Crystal Gayle opening came in and hearing that song day after day for years was annoying.

Finally the generic ER ripoff.

You do realize where you are?

We are very very very different. I respect any fan of any soap who fought for their show. That you don't reflects on you, not on me!

The interlocking ring opening looks like it may have been done using some sort of spirograph. Then they filmed it in some sort of a stop animation sequence or maybe a type of rotoscope animation. That's just my guess. The ABC Movie Of The Week opening was explained on youtube by the son of the guy who created it. He said his father projected the ABC logo graphics on the wall and put a camera on a tracking dolly and rolled the camera at a quick pace toward the front to get the illusion of moving graphics.image.png

After doing some searching on YouTube, the same company that created the NBC Peacock “Brought to You in Living Color” logo was probably the same company that created Another World’s interlocking rings opening.

How dare you speak in such disgusting way... calling Beverlee a DEAD ACTRESS... Are you out of you mind? Do you understand that maybe some of her relatives may read this? I am disgusted.

Someone needs to intervene. This person is now stalking @Donna L. Bridges, trying to ridicule her and attack her every post. Even diminish what she did to save Another World. This is a personal vendetta and I hope... AGAINST rules.

P.S There is KARMA. And you should never call someone DEAD ACTRESS. Beverlee was a legend, while you are an internet troll. You will never even see 1 percent of the victory and success that woman SAW. And YES - 1300 signatures IS IMPORTANT, because it's SIGNATURES, it's EVERY PERSON with THEIR NAME. Who are you to say it doesn't matter. Even if it doesn't lead to an Emmy, it's certainly beautiful and respectful that people TRIED.

SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Aw, shucks. You'll make me blush. But, I love research, so I'm stuck, pleasurably. And that other, well, 99.9% of the time I get people who talk about Beverlee with respect, affection, great appreciation, ...

I appreciate your research, Donna.  In the past six-months, you have helped dispel several historical myths and inaccurate "firsts." And I have noticed, when you have posted something inaccurate (as we all do on occasion) you are quick to admit it and correct it.   I'm confident TEdgeofNight will be escorted out very soon.   Let's hope so, anyway.

Thank you for saying so! And, I have never seen any point in doing anything but owning up to the error & moving on. I mean the point is not to be personally "right" but for the information to be so!! Just this week I saw on Wikipedia that they now say THE YOUNG MARRIEDS was a spin-off of GH. I corrected that already on a GH wiki & I guess I'm going to have to do it again!

Oh boy -- this is another discussion all together. LOL. There was a definite connection between GH and The Young Marrieds.  I don't believe TYMS was a direct spin-off of GH, but there was certainly dialogue that connected both shows, and possibly a cross-over of characters. I researched the connection long ago, but have forgotten the details.  Not literally a spin-off, but certainly in the same "universe", as they say in 2024.  And I believe TYMS' location (city, which I don't recall) was still being mentioned on GH as late as 7-10 years ago.

Way off-topic for the Another World page, but still worthy of discussion . . .
