Members Soapsuds
I agree. Exactly!
Members MarkH
Yeah, for a one month guest stint till cancellation. Then he can do Whip or whatever.
Members y&r_fan
He might surprise us. I wouldn't have thought Owen would still be on the show almost a year later.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I do not trust Brad Bell, and I still don't quite see Owen's purpose on this show, but I'm surprised he's still on contract there.
Members Soapsuds
What story does Owen have anyway? He is just a bit player.
Members y&r_fan
Have you been watching lately? Owen is in the middle of a triangle with Bridget and Jackie!
Members Soapsuds
That's what I thought. A snoozefest if you ask me. I dont want to see Rick Hearst on B&B. The character of Whip was awful. He deserves better.
Members Taiah
RH going back to GL would be pointless now, unless there's some weight to the rumors that Lifetime or some other network will take GL once CBS drops it. Still, thumbs down on him going back to B&B. I liked Whip for a tiny while then it got really stupid and embarrassing (wearing lingerie for Brooke). Members All My Shadows
Not really, IMO. Everyone's talking about the special returns they want and what-not, and I think Alan-Michael returning is one that makes a lot of sense. There's no time for him to have a story, but if GL's demise is going to be about seeing these characters together and happy at last, I think the show can come to a compromise with Rick in order to get A-M back for the last couple of weeks. Rick loves daytime, and I'm sure he'd make some appearances on the show before it goes away. JMO, of course.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yeah, but a guest stint for the finale week might be a nice touch, and I'm sure he'd do it.
Members Sylph
Who says I like them?
Members Taiah
Well ok yeah it could happen for GL's happy ending, that's not a bad idea. Admittedly, I don't watch GL so I'm like whatever but I'd watch the show if RH returned for awhile.
Members MarkH
Nobody. But that's why a SKILLED combatant/agitator is welcome. That's even why I like Sick (esp. Rick) right now: He's mind-screwing Ridge, and that is pure joy.
Members Sylph
So, kind of, I should have entered the thread with the mission to defend the Forresters? And as a skilled agitator? You know what I think is the problem here? The soap is in trouble when the vast majority of its fandom is in agreement: and this is somewhat the case here. Many can't stand Brooke, many can't stand Stephanie... And so on. But if that were not true, then we would have case no. 2: everyone dislikes a different thing on the show. And very few find it watchable. That's why there's little discussion in the B&B thread: it's cr*p, people don't feel like repeating it all the time and spreading the "negativity". Plus, it's boring (to keep repeating it).
Members MarkH
You're probably right. I really think this is eminently fixable. I also think that we have an exhausted creative vision. I realize the Bells would be "defended" about accepting an external viewpoint, but I think that is what needs to happen. (I know this, too, is repetitive...per Bellcurve's recent post). If Brad would just let a seasoned voice come in, and LISTEN. Or even if he would take some of his internal talent (Mulcahey -- hell even Alden and Smith) and let them do a bible...a bona fide bible...I really feel things could turn around.
