Let's hope the "new opening" isn't just a re-shoot of the last 15 seconds featuring Mo, Steve, Bradford, Barash, Ingo and Tony dry-humping Nathan Parsons before going to take a piss. The ladies need to be featured just as much as the men!

In fact, how about they just reissue Faces of the Heart with individual shots of everybody? Full stop.

OK. Well, then, they need to have the current score rat-a-tat-tat-ed out in a musical hail of bullets.

Then a blood-spattered background as "Mob Hospital" pans across it.

All the contract actors would be photographed either as mug shots or corpse shots.

Then it ends with Tony Geary getting up to dry-hump Nathan Parsons before going to take a piss.

Fade-out.

:P

They should play some gangster music, full of gunshots. maybe three sirens throughout - like as Liz, Robin, and Patrick appear. To rep the hospital. lol.

There should def be bullets flying scross the screen and Claudia dressed like the hooker she is rolling on a bed going down on sonny then ric then everyother male.. except Luke/Etehn who can give eachother doe eyes and Lucky looks on, jealous.

There Q's family should flash across within .5 seconds.

And it should begin with Sonny & Jason, and end with Sonny & jason, with images of them over everyone else.

Add in some explosions, a man grabbing a women, and sonny screaming "BETRYAL"

and thats a good rep of current GH.

LOL -- I could see "BETRAYAL- ALE - ALE" echoing through the closing seconds of the opening.

Or they could keep Faces of the Heart -- but only with shots of Sonny and Jason gazing longingly at each other.

Speaking of beautiful shots, found these of Greg Vaughan and Rebecca Herbst way back when. All that pretty! I'm surprised my TV set didn't spontaneously combust.

GOSH! They are so freakin BEAUTIFUL.

And what i hate the most is together they just get even more beautiful, but not pretty it hurts. so pretty you cant look away.

Why Elizabeth Webber & Lucky Spencer are not front and center is beyond me. Oh wait... shes a webber, hes a spencer... she work at the hospital, hes a cop...

Preaching to the choir, jp. Honestly, even a Jason/Liz/Lucky triangle -- if BALANCED and WRITTEN WITHOUT PROPPING one of the men over the other -- could be great. It could be better than Jax/Brenda/Sonny which ended up imploding on itself. It could reference history AND fuel GH for years to come. Luke and Edward might even be up in each other's face over this!

But I just love those shots because not only are they beautiful-looking actors but the love their characters are expressing is beautiful, too. I know that sounds corny as hell. But it does look like two people in love.

I almost swooned from those pictures of Greg Vaughan. The man is beautiful and unlike Steve Burton, he stays in shape and is willing to take off that shirt on a regular basis.

There can never be a balanced triangle when Jason or Sonny or Carly is involved so there is no point.

Guza hates Lucky. I bet Greg isn't on GH much longer.

    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
