Jill sucks.

She didn't design it, Chip Dox suck ass.

Dox has never been great with set design, no matter who the EP is.

GH's craptastic production values stretch back before Jill arrived. I love Wendy Riche, but the show didn't look much better aesthetically under her reign than it does right now.

Watching GH must have lowered my standards and taste because I think the set looks good. LOL!

If Jill had more power at GH, a lot of things might still suck and come off as a convoluted mess, but it would be of a different kind, I'm sure.

Set decorators suck, too.

But why hasn't she fired him? If she has taste and eyes, she would see he sucks.

The woman has lost any taste she might have had before.

No one's here talking about the story, she would probably have zero power there, one of the reasons being that Guza is a CP, but at least she can get those sets, make-up, hair, costumes in line.

How do we know for sure that JFP has no power at GH? She may be deeply involved in making the show crapastic. I have never like her as EP regardless.

Who knows what's happened to Jill? I thought SB and GL were incredibly beautiful and grand during her EP tenure, even AW and OLTL to an extent.

GH is an odd case, during Jill's first two years or so, the general production values were a lot better than what Wendy Riche left her with, I particularly liked it when she had Sonny's penthouse set retouched.

But now? Ugh, no one at GH even tries anymore - in any department.

I mentioned that today in the unpopular opinions thread. I have been watching more and more old GL on Youtube and JFP's era has the show looking nearly as good as Y&R- great attention to detail, great lighting, even great outdoor sets. Loved her OLTL production too.

Honestly, under a different daytime President, GH with JFP would be beautiful! I don't believe for one bit that she has any control. She probably just read's actor's contracts all day long for Frons to see who they can dismiss. If you look at her work on past show's she is one of the best producer's in the industry. Now, don't get me wrong, she is still a first class b*itch, but she is brilliant when it comes to the overall look and feel of a show.

I really believe that it's Guza who dictates the look of the show to Frons. Because this is certain, his writing could never correspond with JFP's gorgeous production values. NEVER!

If I had to make a list of executive producers who can make a soap look fabulous, it would be in this order:

Paul Rauch

William J. Bell

John Conboy (Pre-retirement)

Ed Scott

Jill Farren Phelps

Linda Gottlieb

Out of those 6, there are only 2 still working in daytime right now. Rauch makes Y&R look stunning as it's always been. One Life to Live still has the marks Linda Gottlieb and JFP left pre Valantini.

GH should be grand. The Q Mansion might have even looked the way it did before Monty's earthquake.

The hospital would be livelier, and would have never burned down.

The Port Charles Hotel would still be here and it would be beautiful.

Even Wyndemere would be beautiful.

JFP is known for taking what she has when she arrives at a show and enhancing it. There is no two ways about it. That's the facts plan and simple when it comes to JFP. Frons and Guza have her in check.
