Y&R: Jill To Be Temporarily Recast

From my understanding, the employees at Y&R (and B&B) get paid from the Bell Dramatic Serial Company, not Sony.

Thanks.

They want to cut her episodic guarantee... so I guess as soon as they finish up the major storyline this year.... they want to have the option of sending Jill back to being a socialite....? What a crock.... Jess stand your ground! As Daytime Fan says, LETS START BEATING THOSE DRUMS!!!

Jill is going to be backburnered- i knew the sony thing was not making sense- thanks for clarifying alvin.. Maria Bell writes the show- the cut in guarantee is a sign of future storyline...

Bill Bell, jr is the one that handles all of the business aspects, but I don't know if he's directly involved in contract negotiations with actors.

But I know for sure the Bell Dramatic Serial Company handles contracts.

Interesting.

I don't know what it is, but there is something about MAB that just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know much about her, but one thing is for sure, she has too many writers on staff. I think Hogan is the one with the more creative ideas than MAB. Plus, I never liked Rauch and she brought him on. I just can't put my finger on it.

Rauch wasn't hired by Maria, he was hired by Bill Bell, jr., from what I've heard. All he does is handle production matters at the show, nothing else.

Anyway, I have to wonder if Jess is still in contract negotiations or if that's done and she's quit. MAB doesn't handle contracts, that belongs to her husband or whatever executive is in charge of doing contracts for the Bell's.

Just when they bring Jill back to the forefront, they want to ship her back again to the backburner cafe.... ridiculous. There is so much more story to be told.... If it is Maria Arena Bell behind this, she has went from perfect to mediocre in like a minute.

I have been turned off by MAB since that interview with Paul Rauch they gave to Nelson Branco.

She seems very intelligent and educated but with a huge ego. The way she took credit for everything and marginalized Hogan was very telling.

Never! I know the reality is harsh, but that just can't happen. Y&R can't do that, not now. Not ever.

Well, I guess contract negotiations are still going on. If she quit and didn't want to negotiate further, we would have heard about it by now.

I just want this nightmare to be over, with a positive outcome. There are so many people on the cast they could cut and I wouldn't blink.

Yeah.... if this goes through, Fronsvision has apparently taken firm hold in this industry, even among the shows that supposedly are above that ideology. I will be so disheartened if she ends up not coming back :(

Yes! I'd sacrifice all of them for Walton. That sounded weird.

Thanks, I didn't know that. It makes me wonder, however, since he shares the title with MAB, if they confer about issues and maybe his opinion of actors influence hers or if it's all MAB. Like Jess walking, Rauch saying something like "I'd never put up with that, RECAST ASAP!" or if MAB is another JFP in disguise.

Anyway, I have to wonder if Jess is still in contract negotiations or if that's done and she's quit. MAB doesn't handle contracts, that belongs to her husband or whatever executive is in charge of doing contracts for the Bell's.

If Jess, like totally quit and walked, that would be a huge story and I'd love to read every word of it. Also, if she quit and they are just like fine whatever and that casting call wasn't a scare tactic, then they are totally f'd up.

I seem to recall Melody Thomas Scott quitting for like two weeks back in 2001 or so and they wrote an exit for her, and she ended up coming back. It's not above them to let actors go and then cave in.

But it appears negotiations are still going on, so who knows where the tide will turn.
