Members Y&RWorldTurner
How sad that in the middle of all this Katherine and Jill awesomeness, Jess Walton has fallen ill. Here's to a speedy recovery, Jess!

Members Y&RWorldTurner
Jill is being temporarily recast, Jess Walton abruptly fell ill. It's an emergency recast. Details about Walton's health will be forthcoming, I'm sure.
Members lmfan
I am glad she updated her status. Her fans miss her and to her fans that is a long time to be missing especially since her family is in a frontburner storyline and she has always been close to Kevin. Lauren is typically involved in her family's storylines and so it is understandable when she is not involved at all that people would wonder where she was. She actually has been written out 7 weeks of the first twelve weeks of this year. That is not insignificant even if other contract characters have been missing in action longer at some point in the past. I certainly wish Jess Walton a speedy recovery. She will be missed and it's too bad because she was getting such good material, but one's health must come first. I pray it is nothing serious. Another story that is paced poorly is the Winters story. I am not a big fan of the stary but that is irrelevant because if you start a story you don't play it one week on and two weeks off. I get that Maria Bell and the writers love the Chancellors, Abbotts and Newmans and obviously Kevin and Amber but I hope once we get past the sweeps, we can see more of characters that have been backburned. The favorites can still be the A stories even if they aren't on five days a week.
Members lmfan
Wouldn't it make more sense for Rafe to joing Michael's law firm? He is a defense attorney. Michael can focus on the big clients and Rafe the younger set. They should see how they interact. I liked Heather better when she was a corporate lawyer at Jabot rather than as an ADA. I liked Adam and Heather when they were involved in the summer. They were well matched, but I don't want to see another couple ala Victor and Nikki where he treats the significant other like crap. My problem with Adam is he doesn't take any responsibility for his mistakes. Yes, Victor was an ass to him and will continue to be and Jack set him up to take the fall that Jack materminded. Heather was just doing her job, and he asked her to become a fugitive and go against her ethics and now continues to blame her because she couldn't do that. I would like Adam better if he would admit he is the cause of some of his own problems.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Didn't Rafe mention being a public defender that specializes in family law?
Members lmfan
But Billy won't be related to Katherine anymore which I think is good and not because of Mac. I like that he will be an Abbott first and last. Cane still is Philip Chancellor's son, so even though he is not Kay's grandson, I wonder how that will effect their relationship? I do hope Katherine gives the stock to the Abbotts and they can take control again. They have played out Jabot as a hot potato too long already. Members lmfan
I think in the beginning he did, but they can always have him jump to the private sector and use him like Michael eventually. Michael seems to be an expert in all law areas. But even if they have him specialize in family law it would still work because Michael could focus on the corporate and criminal end. I just don't think they need another young public defender. What I think they need is an experienced DA to go up againts Michael because I don't find Heather much of a match for Michael. If Rafe was a defense attorney, I can see a better professional rivalry between Rafe and Heather though. I have to see more of Rafe. He hasn't done anything for me at this point, but also hasn't been used much. He looks pretty green though. He looks more like a college kid than an attorney, and I think the actor is only in his early 20s.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I think Rafe is one of those throwaway supporting bit characters that they'll use occasionally, not build storylines around. They probably just gave him the connection to Estella, another throwaway supporting bit character, to build some connection for him. The actor is young and recurring, I don't think he'll be there for too long.
Members lmfan
That's what I thought also, but now with the diversity push and connecting him with Estella I wonder if they will write more for him. Frankly, I could care less but making him connected to Estella and giving him an excuse to come to the Newman ranch for Adam's parol meetings makes me think they have a plan for him. He mentioned Michael subbing for him when Adam was released into Victor's custody, while I thought Michael had taken over the case at Victor's request and was not just called in because Rafe was unavailable. Members Y&RWorldTurner
I don't see much of a future for Rafe, I don't think he'll be used outside of his role as the secondary lawyer on the show. I hope Jess Walton's sudden departure doesn't throw her storyline in limbo. I wonder how much stuff she tapped before falling severely ill. I guess the fact that they're immediately recasting will pick up some of the slack.
Members DaytimeFan
She last appeared in public on March 9 at AFTRA awards dinner for Jeanne Cooper. If she taped a week after that point she should be airing through at least mid April. The emergency recast tells me that Jill's narrative is going full steam ahead and that rewriting is simply impossible. Everyone say a prayer for Jess. Let's hope she doesn't need them. Members JSROCKS
I hope Kay and Murph move his trailer onto the Chancellor property. They would be near the action but also somewhat removed from it as well. Jill would lose her mind. In any case, I can't see Kay taking Esthers inheritance back after letting Nikki keep the ring. But we'll see.
Members BadZoe
Why should Murphy have a hard time moving into a mansion? I never grew up in one but would find it a windfall to rejoice at.
