She last appeared in public on March 9 at AFTRA awards dinner for Jeanne Cooper. If she taped a week after that point she should be airing through at least mid April. The emergency recast tells me that Jill's narrative is going full steam ahead and that rewriting is simply impossible.

If they recast, it should be for a period long enough for Jill to go to London to "heal" with her mother and brother Snapper. That way Jill is off-canvas until Walton is hopefully able to return. I don't think they should push this story too far without Walton.

In the meantime, I have to admit that my favorite ideas would be to see Adair or Dickson do a TEMPORARY return (a few weeks, while they get Jill to London)...just because it would be fun to see how they do in 2009. But I think Jill should be sent away until Walton can do her storyline again.

I saw those AFTRA pictures...and Walton sure looked tired in them.

I hope Kay and Murph move his trailer onto the Chancellor property. They would be near the action but also somewhat removed from it as well. Jill would lose her mind.

In any case, I can't see Kay taking Esthers inheritance back after letting Nikki keep the ring. But we'll see.

I agree on both scores. Kay gave a PITTANCE to everyone (1/10 of 1% and so far), and Jill got the majority. So, if Kay gets the bulk bast from Jill, everyone else can keep their shares, IMO.

And I love, love, love that trailer. I hope they keep it as Kay and Murph's personal "retreat".

Yeah, but intentionally so. The point was that the "Duchess" (or Empress, or whatever) was in a diner...in other words, a perfect visual evocation of the last four months of Kay's life (for a Restless Style story on her

So, we were supposed to see "tattered princess"..."Queen who'd seen better days".

Maybe, to put it in different terms...More "Princess Margaret" and less "Queen Elizabeth".

I liked, therefore, that these were edgy. They weren't showing Kay as her regal self, but Kay as icon-in-ruins.

That said, even though the Indian Princess was supposed to be hideous...I thought it was a revelation...because there is still a sultry soul there!

So who is right? I am really worried if it's a health issue, but everyone is telling me otherwise.

It would sadden me if this was just a "Martha Byrne" ploy...try to scare Jess into accepting a sh*t contract by threatening a recast. Come on, folks. Jess needs to look at the industry financials and her probability of landing another job this good, but Y&R needs to understand that she is one of their top-five or top-ten players.

Well, in that list, the ONLY one who would do Walton's Jill justice is Jane Elliot. But she has a contract.

Stuart is intriguing, and I could see her as a kind of hybrid of Dickson, Walton, Adair...with plenty of her own stuff mixed in. But could Stuart channel the "manicurist" within -- the insecure girl from the wrong side of the tracks? The Monday preview clip, where low-born Nikki tosses off that Jill is now just "some nobody's daughter", is truly Jill's worst nightmare, I think. She married the Abbott patriarch to escape her roots...and that was part of the attraction to Phillip II too.

Strangely, though, I'd be more at peace with this recast if it IS a contract issue. I don't want Walton to be ill.

I don't want her to be ill too—and if she is having contract troubles they'll need to handle it somehow. I do not want to see someone else as Jill. Not at this time. Not after 22 years of Walton. Sure, everyone can be recast.

I am surprised by the Jess Walton contract negotiation rumors. Don't they usually put actors on the back burner when they are undergoing negotiations so they can avoid exactly these kinds of situations? We barely saw Brad when Don Diamont was being ushered out. He only popped back on our screens after the decision had been made to fire him.

Ehh, Daytime someowhat confirmed heath issues and has never been wrong with these things in the past.

I would take what they say over what Daytime C posts reports via a-cousin-of-a-brothers-best friends-roommates-mothers-friends-set-side-source reports, lol. Dont get me wrong, i like DC a lot - check it saily - but a lot of rumoprs/gossip are just that and nothing more.
