Wow. I honestly thought the words "pregnant" and "Sharon" would go hand-in-hand in this post.

Ashley? Wow. This could be a great SL for Eileen given Ash's tragic history with Victor's babies... or it's another vanity project in praise of Victor's strong sperm.

The Newman Super DNA results in yet another miracle baby. Ashley was told there was no chance of her having another child after the car accident that resulted in the death of her and Brad's child.

And........ this kind of cr@p is the reason I no longer record Y&R. If it wasn't for Katherine and Billy/Chloe, I would stop watching altogether. I'll read the recaps and stream if they are on, but the rest just screams contrived plot.

I fail to see what's so plot driven about Y&R in it's current state. If anything, they spend too much time on built up and character work. If they don't acknowledge Ashley's accident that prevented her from giving birth, then it is plot driven. Also, if it's indeed early menopause, this whole situation is obsolete. It wouldn't be like Reva being pregnant, even though she began experiencing menopause a couple of years ago, now that's plot driven.

I just mean the show in general. The whole Phick/Shick cr@p, Karen/Neil/Tyra/singing kid cr@p, Cane/Lily cr@p, Noah/Eden cr@p... nothing is holding my interest right now except Billy/Chloe and Katherine. Everything seems so contrived to me.. I don't even care anymore who's running Jabot and Colleen going against Victor is just asinine... I don't care that Sharon is spiraling out of control b/c she's just getting on my nerves... I'm a HUGE GL fan, but you're not going to get any argument from me on the Reva pregnancy. Thankfully, that was old GL and we're moving into a new phase with that show.

I see what you mean, certain characters might not be your favourite, but outside of the Neil/Karen/Tyra mess, I think the rest of the show is deeply rooted in use of character history. For example, you might not like Sharon right now, but it's perfectly understandable for why she's acting the way she is, given what's happening in her life and how it all built up to this point. Noah and Eden fulfill their younger set, nothing more. I wouldn't actually say they have an actual storyline. Cane/Lily get on my nerves, and I like pretend they never exist. As for Colleen/Victor, it's so obvious to me that she's only Jack's puppet to use against Victor, and they're back to giving Colleen almost no attention.

 I'm going to have to try that.

Y&R has so many characters that I love and could be the focus and maybe that's part of why I feel the way I do about it now. I hate how Lauren has been relegated, though I love her and Michael. But I want to see them with a real story. I liked how Jill was with Chloe, but hated the whole insta-hookup (again) with Jeffrey. She needs her own story again and not just trying to control the back and forth between Cane/Billy and to constantly say Katherine is Marge. I know Y&R has always been slow (and I'm not saying that like it's a bad thing), but I want Victor to know about Nikki and Paul. And as much as I love Victor/Nikki, I want her to tell him where to go when he tries to control her again. I like the Daniel/Amber/Kevin/Jana dynamic, but their involvement in trying to find Katherine/prove who she is, is boring me. I feel like the dialogue is repetitive. As much as GL has always been MY show, I love Y&R too. Seeing Tricia Cast a while back for a couple of days was great, but it made me realize how much I miss Nina and the David Kimble days of Y&R.

I really hope this storyline is early menopause because a pregnancy is just stupid. But that's just my opinion and others could be loving the show right now.
