Not to mention, her character, Allison Barrington is the granddaughter of GH character Amanda Barrington portrayed by Anne Jefferys since 1984. Even though Amanda was a recurring character, she still has a history with the Quartermaines, hence Derek Barrington and Celia Quartermaine. Also, Allison could have really stirred up trouble between Emily and Nikolas as well as Lucky and Liz and so would not have been mob related! She also could have been a real nemesis to Carly. Carly being the bitch from the wrong side of the tracks who gets what she wants and Allison being the conniving trust fund debutant who gets what she wants. (If I remember correctly, Emily didn't like Allison and they kind of snickered at each other at the 1998 Nurses Ball when Emily was with Nikolas. Or maybe that was 1999)

Also, I always would have loved to have seen Edward having a companion after Lila's death. A la Jo and Stu on Search for Tomorrow. Edward and Audrey (who they axed) or Edward and Amanda or even Edward and Epiphany. John Ingle has amazing chemistry with those three characters and their respective actresses. It would have been a nice touch, even if it would play a minor role in the show. It would be about friendship and bonding. No death and mob madness!

Always thought they should have brought Allison to GH as well.

The story could be that she's been in Shady Brook this whole time because everyone thought she was nuts when she told them about Vampire and Wear Wolfs and stuff.

She could meet up with Sam and and freakout.

Reminds me of the same cries about Michael Easton and his gigantic fanbase and how OLTL would be insane to get rid of him. TK and ME are cut from the same cloth. Both are over exposed, hyped individuals who would have worked in moderation but became total detriments to their shows due to Frons' inability to see they weren't the soap gods he made them out to be.

That's exactly how I felt about both of them as they sucked the life out of Port Charles. I especially disliked the character of Ian Thornhart and how he was basically handed everything that belonged to Kevin Collins/Jon Lindstrom, including Eve and Lucy. Then they villainized Kevin so Ian could be the hero. Blech. I don't blame them, they're just actors TPTB insist(ed) on over-exposing, but I just end up ff-ing them.

Which is exactly how I feel about Ryan. One overhyped, poorly written character that Frons seems to worship beyond all reason and to the detriment of the show.

I know not everyone agrees and that's cool, I respect others opinions. But if Zach is over exposed so is Ryan. TK leaving and the show becoming the Ryan Lavery Hour, which you know it will, holds no interest at all for me.

Oh I agree with you there, but I feel AMC already is the Ryan Lavery Hour...

My wish is for Thorsten and Cameron to both get the hell off the show ASAP!

Alison Barrington got her start in the year 2000, and was positioned initially as a girl who flirted with Juan Santiago, since she was CERTAIN he was going places with his new record label, L&B records. So it was Juan that Alison and Emily were a little snippy over. But I think they just did that to establish Alison's family history on the GH canvas before her whole turn on Port Charles.

You are absolutely right! Thanks, I totally forgot about that. Wasn't that also the time when Juan believed Sonny was his father when it was really Miguel?

Wasn't there also a Bachelorette auction or Bachelors auction one year and Nikolas and Emily were paired together? I also thought that year Nikolas did bring Emily with him as his date to the Nurses Ball, but I could be mistaken.

I think the Alison bit was post-Nurses Ball, because Juan debuted shortly before the ball in 1999, as a waiter at the Ball and accused Sonny of being his father, and that was quickly cleared up and Juan learned about Lily's romance with Miguel.

Alison was introduced the FOLLOWING summer, in 2000, when Juan had already settled into the L&B story and they started towards "Dead Ted" with Emily being set up in bed with the dead cop and all the teens were going to raves all summer. Alison was flirty with Juan and Emily got upset and either drank or did drugs and woke up next to the dead cop, and then the story kicked off with Zander who had drugged Emily and set her up, and Taggert's sister Gia was introduced as Emily's blackmailer and Nikolas's love interest. Juan was phased out by the end of that summer, I think and went on tour for L&B.

Are you talking about Alison Barrington's debut on GH? Because Alison was a character on PC beginning Spring 2000, when Nana Barrington forced her to volunteer at the hospital.

Thanks for that info DavidEvanSmith and Bellcurve. Shortly after that is when I stopped watching GH for a while, before resuming around 2002.

I loved Allison and Jamal. They were a great couple until the angel guy broke them up.

Word! That pissed me off so bad when they broke up Alison and Jamal and just hooked her up with Rafe and acted as though that was her one true love.

And then they used Jack as the third wheel in the triangle and completely isolated Jamal.

UGH! To this day, I hate the hell out of Brian Gaskill for that story.

Guess I will be a dissenting opinion here, losing TK would be a big loss to the show and I would miss him terribly. Whether Zendall stay together or not I think Zach Slater is a very important character on this show. So many of the men on AMC (and soaps) are just these "beefcake" types who just play to the stereotypical soap hunk cliche. But TK is an actor who adds balance to all the shirtless men and such. I enjoy watching any scenes he is in because he brings real, relatable and human emotion that IMO is lacking from AMC. Not to mention he makes a good rival for Ryan, and every soap needs a good rivalry.

Loosing TK be a big loss, and if AMC lets him go it would tell me that they care more about beefcakes and money than they do about good storytelling with great actors. And if TK left, that wouldn't leave much hope for me in being interested in any other story. My many years of loyal AMC viewing may just need to take a break.

So I hope ABC does everything they can to keep him.

I couldn't agree more. TK is the heart of the show for me and an amazing following. It would be a huge huge huge loss if they do not renew his contract. The Zendall pairing was very popular and the chemistry was really sensational. I would not be as interested in AMC with TK gone.

The heart? LOL! Frons and JHC have you right where they want you. Sucker!
