Opal DID rock today.

The Chandler Carey crowd puts on a helluva custody hearing.

Soooo, Zach had already decided he would kill someone to get a heart. I didn't think they'd have him say it out loud.

I am glad Zach stood up for Bianca and Reese and his loyalty to Kendall, but I loved Erica telling him she didn't like the way he spoke to her and it didn't seem like she bought what he said.

Adam! I've missed him.

So did Josh fire in the air at Zach? I almost thought it was JR the way he fired off 3 rounds in the ceiling for no reason. :D

I missed some parts I'll have to check out later.

WTF My Liv?! I thought Tonya walked away for good after they let her languish forever.

This show could have a healthy amount of characters in every age range if they really wanted to. Some could be contract, some could be recurring. The late 40s/early 50s group of Tad, Krystal, David, Jesse, Angie, Livia, and Derek would be wall-to-wall talent playing good characters.

LIVIA!!! I was so glad to see her, I love her so. I wish they would have done a little three month arc to break her up from perpetual wet blanket Tom Cudahy so she could mix and mingle in with Pine Valley's singles. I would love Livia with Tad, Jackson, OR even Adam Chandler! When I was doing Fan Fiction years ago, I gave Livia breast cancer, and that started eroding her marriage to Tom, he fell off the wagon and actually got into an accident that landed Jamie Martin in a coma (full circle for Tom, what with his and Brooke's daughter Laura dying the same way). A remorseful Tom went off to rehab to get his life together and Livia was leaning on her lawyer/friend Jackson, which led to romantic feelings that surprised them BOTH and put Erica on the defensive.

But I digress.

I'm thrilled they're using Opal so much. She really DOES need to be on contract, especially if Palmer's screen time is only going to decline in the future. It really shows that the writers recognize her connections to the canvas and the show's history, and giving her such a prominent voice on the canvas is a GREAT start to something I hope will only increase. Plus, Jill Larson is a gem of an actress, and soaps NEED that colorful character, it sets them apart. The Sally Spectras, the Roxy Balsoms, and the Opals of this genre add so much flavor.

JR's an ass, and ruined great scenes today. I hate the way Jacob Young plays drunk.

Looks like Amanda's preggers! Let the games begin!

Josh's return is so random and forced. But if they had continued him as a bad boy in the last two years he would have been a hell of a lot more fun. Egglesfield is great as a black sheep.

    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.

    • What can I say?  I did my best.
    • Thank you for sharing. I guess Nancy was catatonic most of her time on the show, so I guess the gasps make sense, lol. I had heard Cathy and Dick DeCoit were supposed to be on the show longer, but Trish Stewart leaving changed all that.
    • @Rmodelboy Thanks for posting that On-set pic of June. She looks great, you just might be right about her being Hayley sibling.
