I agree. I hope she turns out to be Emily.

First of all given their history, Robin using www.AllThingsCarly.edu as a reference is stupid. I've always liked Robin but sometimes it's hard for me to root for her under Guza's writing. However, it's the same with Carly. Recently, she's become a little smug herself.

Okay, color me BLOWN AWAY, but was Natalia Livingston's Emily really that popular?! She had the look, but other than that she seemed like a total miscast to me, and the attempt to "princessify" Emily just fell flat with me. She never seemed genuinely gracious or tender or loving, it ALWAYS came off as hollow and fake to me (amazing since she was REALLY entangled with Tyler Christopher for a time... no wonder they broke up). She bossed everyone around, sanctimoniously thought she knew what was best for everyone, was yet ANOTHER character that came to worship Sonny's penis, propped Jason and Sonny endlessly, and I really couldn't stand her in the role. The ONLY reason I am withholding my frustration about her return to the show is the fact that Livingston's playing a new "edgier" character and I'm hoping it was just the way they wrote Emily, not Livingston's portrayal itself that made me want to punch an Emily-sized hole in my tv screen. I've already made myself accept that this character Rebecca will undoubtedly ONLY be used for Nikolas and the implications on the Quartermaines will be minimal at best.

If she turns out to be Emily, I will personally resurrect Diego again and have him kill ME so I don't need to watch her in that insipid role ever again.

I had no idea that NL was so popular either. She can't act for her life. It has got to be a vocal fan base at work here because all this promotion given to her return is just silly.

Last comment on Robin, she isn't perfect, but on no planet can skanky Carly judge Robin who was dead right to tell the truth about Michael and Spencer.

I will be the first to say that NL is a very limited actress. However the death of Emily still sits painfully with this show, her death was horrible and her abscence from the show as Emily has been painfully apparent. NL may not be a powerhouse actress, and Emily at times may be annoying but to be honest we need a heroine in GH and Emily fit the bill perfectly. Liz lost her halo a long time ago, Lulu is more of a Carly reject then she is the daughter of Laura and Robin is barely on. So there is a void to be filled here. The death of Emily just leaves a huge gap in the show. I just can't help but think that when Emily died GH lost even more of it's heart and soul.

I felt that way when she was with Zander (Brandon) but with her Nem storyline I always felt that she loved him more then anything. Nik doesn't click with anyone else to be honest, Nem was a good couple, not great but it has gotten to the point where I will not except him with anyone else except Emily. I do believe she is it for him.

I agree but she is easier to swallow then Laura Wright's caricature of Carly which does all the same things you listed.

I know Natalia has fans, but I think she's like Rebecca Budig, she was probably more popular among ABC executives than among the viewers. They even said when Natalia left that they had another role waiting for her if she came back. Few people get such special treatment unless someone like Frons is into them.

I think she's a bad actress and she has a remarkable lack of chemistry with most of her screen partners. I never managed to get over her early years on GH, when they absolutely decimated Stefan Cassadine, a fantastic character, just to cause drama for Nikolas and Emily.

I don't take popularity at those fan supported events seriously. The people who attend are member of vocal rabid fan bases. They flock to these events, but they are minuscule in numbers compared to the audience as a whole.

I do think that Emily was soiled when she cheated Zander who I adored. Regardless Guza should not have killed off Emily or Georgie for that matter. I cannot stand how carelessly TPTB kill off legacy characters and their children. These characters should be sent away if they don't want to write for them any more not callously murdered. What if years from now, a miracle happens and Amber Tamblyn wants to return to the role? They have to create a whole new preposterous back from the dead story.

Oh, man, it is like you read my mind.

I think these screen caps encapsulate the yawning gap between what all the characters were saying about Emily (i.e.: how kind, loving, giving she was) and what came across on screen:

Here she is, telling somebody off for the bad they are doing. And when I say "somebody," I mean a doctor or a Quartermaine. Sonny and Jason, of course, being "good men."

I used to HATE the uming and "like" and the goddamn finger-pointing Emily used to do. IMO, an actor like Chad Bannon was a bigger loss to GH because of his talent and undeniable chemistry with absolutely everybody. However, I can't deny that (1.) I hated Courtney a hell of a lot more than Emily and (2.) Natalia Livingston, though not a powerhouse actress in such a sickly-sweet role (I remember you using NL for Beyond the Horizon in a bitchy vixen role!), did have some moments on screen. Moments like this:

12-15_188.jpg12-15_189.jpg

See, I like to think that these semi-improvised moments are Natalia Livingston's and less broom-up-her-ass Emily's. While hating the character, I can't help but admit that the actress came off as a really nice person whenever I saw her interviewed or whatnot.

My sudden interest in seeing NL back on GH says a lot about the current dire state of the show. It is awful. The way Emily was killed off, choking and gurgling as Diego strangled her was awful. Women-haters' torture porn. I sort of think GH needs to make that right. I also think that if a returned RebeccIly means the start of rebuilding the Qs, then I am all for it.

Plus, I can't stomach too-cute-for-words Nadine.

    • Oh wow that’s pretty awesome! I wish I had  approached him but there was so many people
    • In the current environment, while it's small, there is a crumb of good news: Apparently, San Antonio voted for a DEMOCRATIC mayor, Gina Ortiz, beating the "right-hand man" of Gov. Greg Abbott, former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5337199-gina-ortiz-jones-wins-san-antonio/
    • Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.
    •   Dani’s cute ass party planner. He gave me some tea but I was so drunk I don’t remember it.
    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
