And just to give a little more insight, Alicia's Kendall has been written by:

Richard Culliton: 2002 (Lish's debut as Kendall)

Gordon Rayfield: 2002-2003

Gordon Rayfield & Anna Theresa Cascio: 2003

the writer: 2003-2007 (This is when it turned into All My Babe with Kendall and Ryan)

James Harmon Brown & Barbara Esensten: 2007-2008

Charles Pratt, Jr.: 2008-Present

I wasn't a big fan of Rayfield at all, and Cascio only made it a little bit better (IMO), but McTash essentially ruined Kendall for me when she, Erica, and Bianca patched things up and became la Kane familia. She was much better in the more antagonistic role, being the girl/woman who clawed and scraped, maybe schemed and lied, to get what she wanted. I loved her being Petey's babysitter, which gave her some great interactions with Palmer and Opal. I even liked JR's little crush on her. Gosh...I really, really, really liked Kendall for a good year, but then it all just went horribly wrong.

[small voice]I was totally on Greenlee's side during the whole fake pregnancy thing, which lead, of course, to the infamous courtroom scene that showed just how well Lish and Becks work with each other.[/small voice]

Nope. As a matter of fact, the first two episodes were pretty Kane/Montgomery-centric. I don't recall anyone from the Chandler/Martin crowd, besides Mia and Jake.

That, unfortunately, is McTravesty's formula. Bring long lost family together and have them instantly bond as if they've been together forever and aren't strangers to each other.

Interesting. That was when I went back on my Greenlee hatred. I started to get sick of her during Richard Culliton's tenure -- the Everyone's Related to Leo era. But then I started to like her again, oddly enough, during the much hated Rayfield/Cascio era. And then, BAM! Hated her once she started going after Ryan and became obsessed with exposing Kendall's fake pregnancy -- and for what? I still have yet to get past that. That was the last time I truly supported Kendall without question... during the whole Cambias thing and the destruction of Rendall to create Rylee. Then, she just became a little too much. If Greenlee had done that several months ago, I wouldn't have cared about it at all.

I wasn't watching AMC at this time (bits and pieces here and there), and it was really interesting to watch Minshew flex the results of her Masters Degree from the Tori Spelling School of Acting (David Hasselhoff was the Dean of Students). And people talk about Trassions' nonacting pretty people. The girl was all kinds of aweful. She has grown, but not by much.

When I watched those eppies, I could not believe that AMC had so many bad performers then, and it's interesting to see that this has not changed much in 2009. Any wonder why CBS rakes in the awards?

It's just your precious opinion was exceedingly vituperative. Almost as if you enjoyed saying such nasty things about a soap the rest of us enjoy. So, I guess I can ask for clarification as well. What was the point (assuming you had one) of watching a marathon dedicated to a character played by an actress you don't consider talented on a show that's on a network you don't like? Only so you can come in here and "Chit" all over the thread? Was that really necessary?

Again, just curious.

    • Lois's return has been a bust. So disappointing that the writers have never written for her. As with Tracy, the pool of GH vets is so thin, there's no one to pair her with. Doubtful they would go to the trouble of properly recasting a legacy character and then sticking  him with Lois; they're obviously not that invested. If she wants to be on this show, it'll be as a noisy grandma who stays in the background.
    • I love me some Anita and TT. They need to give her a good storyline and I know that it's coming.
    • @Franko Thanks for tagging me. A few days ago I was talking in another thread about the rise of "snarky" critics for TV shows in the '90s online recaps, but this is just more along the lines of a mauling. There's also the unspoken reality that films like Steel Magnolias were seen as movies for women, so therefore they sucked. Pauline Kael also had her share of blunt, at times incredibly nasty remarks, but the vitriol is often balanced by her love for film. I'm not seeing that here.  With that said, the comment about Field's work becoming unbearable describes how I felt when I tried to sit through her and Maura Tierney on ER.
    • I skipped most of Daniel too. I think it's awful he has kids with Nicole, Csrky5 and Chloe and Brady, Bo and Philip do not.

    • Today was very focused on Bo and his illness.  I’m liking how everything is ultimately tied together, even though everybody doesn’t know it yet. The EJ connection seems a little sudden and random though. I’m guessing that that was not on Ron’s agenda. And I’m not really sure why any of these rich people couldn’t help the hospital months ago lol  But I really like how the whole sepsis drug thing is being written a lot more realistically than what we’ve grown accustomed to with Dr. Rolf and all of his wonder drugs. They’re definitely putting more of an effort into this storyline. It feels more real.  Philip was a little whiny and self-pitying today, but I also feel like the writing has improved for him as well. He’s coming off less like a villain and more like a tragic hero. I enjoyed his scene with Stephanie and hopefully it means that at some point, we’ll get a revival of Philip/ Stephanie/Alex. Tying it to Stephanie’s novel could be really good. And, the dorkiness of Xander and Sarah was really sweet too. I’m looking forward to their weekend together and what secrets may or may not come out lol
    • "And I also want to flirt with every woman that comes my way... but then beat up anyone who talks to my wife. BECAUSE I'M A MAAAAAAAAAAAN." Give me a break with your ugly baby paintings... You're in the same category of the hacks that sell paintings with a single dot for thousands or even millions of dollars.

    • I have to check out his Bela Garody on Search for tomorrow. He was one of the main reasons EON worked for me when I was watching. Truly unforgettable presence. Handsome in the most perverse and sinister way. They don't make faces like that anymore.
