OLTL: Let's recall some past characters.

Wanda was one of the greatest characters ever on soaps period. Marilyn Chris was such a great actress. Pity that OLTL didn't realize what they had with her.

They never really attempted to even build up a family around her that I remember - just some convoluted thing when the Buchanans came on to make her Asa's cousin - but never really capitalized on that.

When the Wolek family played out with her only being an in-law too - she just faded away.

And I have a soft spot for Piccolino, the Italian giant Tina met while she was disguised as a nun, trying to find her baby Milagro (aka CJ). How he cried when she left and gave her the bleeding heart flower. "Il cuore di sanguinante."

It seems like no matter who was writing the show (lets forget Dena! lol), they always managed to create interesting, compelling characters. I think that is one of the reasons why Ron can bring so many characters back and they all seem to merge so well with the current characters.

Oh, and I so miss Wanda. But if I remember, it was her decision to leave. So that can't be blamed on OLTL.

I LOVED Jamie & Elizabeth Sanders, and Allison Perkins and her poor mom!

When did Niki Smith stop wearing wigs with long red hair?

Has anyone mentioned Tracey James or her sometimes-henchman whose name, I think, was Stick?

Or the character Rick played by Richard Grieco?

Or the young girl named Mary (I think) who Dorian took in, was blackmailed by Jamie Sanders, and ended up falling out a window during a struggle with Cassie?

Sophia (Pellegrino?) Loved her... great actress and the only character who actually made Antonio tolerable.

Mel Hayes and his daughter Dorothy

THANK YOU for bringing up Tracey James and you beat me to it!!!! Loved the storyline involving her. She was the psycho nurse (or hospital volunteer, can't really remember) who developed quite an obsession with Dr. Larry Wolek. So much to the point that she cut the breaks on his wife Laurel's car which resulted in her dying in a car crash. She also attempted to kill Cassie by tampering with a stove so that it would release carbon monoxide in her apartment. She stabbed Viki's therapist, Dr. Polk, in the back (literally) and Viki was arrested for the murder. Good stuff back then.

Kerry Nichols and Friends: One Life To Live's lame attempt at a rap storyline. Kerry Nichols, Miles Lewis, and Yusef (forgot his last name) were the players. Also, Kerry's father, Troy Nichols, girlfriend Rika Price, Rika's sister Sheila Price who dated Kerry's father Troy.

Leo Cromwell and his daughter Christine Cromwell who developed a crush on Wade Coleman. Also, Billie Giordano (Wade's skanky ex-girlfriend played by actress Lisa Peluso). Cyndy London (sister of Dr. Patrick London and Kate Sanders' best friend), Frank O'Neill (Harry O'Neill's brother), Clover Wilde, Jinx Rollins, and wacky Alex Olanov.

I remember in the 80's everyone was criticizing GL for having Reva Shayne so obsessed with marrying Lewis men, and would be Lewis men....Billy, Kyle, HB, Josh.

Meanwhile, Delila Ralston flew under the radar when she married THREE Buchanans...Asa, Bo and Rafe. :D

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
