I think stats like these prove that all these talks about DAYS' cancellation are just a bunch of rumors and hype. I really don't see NBC cancelling it if DAYS keeps this up. They've gained a couple hundred thousand viewers the last few weeks, and really haven't lost many of those it seems. And they usually gain in Dec/Early Jan as well, so I see only good things for DAYS (as far as staying on the air) through at least the next year.

I agree the stories that were put in place in early fall are finally getting people to tune in again slowly which is good since big jumps never are sustained. NBC is not gonna cancell Days-it still is profitable. At most, NBC will aks Days to cut some of the cast members that aren't necessary since the cast is so bloated.

It is so good to see Days #3 in total viewers. Days rocked last week and this week and should really pull in good numbers during the holidays/early Jan. since traditionally they do along with all the shows.

I never said she wasnt popular or didnt have hardcore fans. The storyline is what sucks not the actors. The writers have done a poor job of writing Sheila's return. And I am not the only one who thinks that. Geeesh....lighten up MarlandRulez. Lately, you cant say anything on this board or you will get slammed. I am starting to get tired of it!

Yes it has KR-almost the whole month of November if I recall. Like I said, it looks like the stories are driving people to watch somewhat IMO. I mean the show has been alot better since Summer so maybe people are finally taking notice. All I know is its better to have a steady climb in ratings like Days has had then a big jump since they are hardly ever sustained.

So DAYS is 3rd in overall viewers, 3rd in male viewers, 1st in 12-17 teens(not a big deal, only 69,000 total viewers), a close 2nd in total viewers in 18-49 demos, and #1 in the 18-34 demos....I would say thats a pretty good week for DAYS.

Toups I know we are getting way too greedy, but could you possibly post the 25-54 demos each week, if not thats fine just wondering what DAYS does it that demo. Again thanks for posting these each week! ;)

For the week of October 17th-21st DAYS was #7 in total viewers with 2,968,000, this week DAYS was #3 in overall viewers with 3,440,000 overall viewers. Thats a plus of 472,000 viewers since mid October, hopefully DAYS can either hold on to these numbers or continue to slowly gain with Christie Clark back as Carrie.

Oganaized by amount of viewers for each episode. Bold type if you got over 3.5 million viewers, only 10-15 episodes per week manage to do that!

Wow DAYS is quietly doing very well!

#1 in 12-17

#1 in 18-34

#1 in 18-49 Demos (tie)

#2 in 18-49 Viewers

#3 in Males Viewers

Aren't gains after Thanksgiving Week often rare, considering Thanksgiving Week is a week when most shows all gain viewers.

Should be good as DAYS heads into the holiday ratings weeks coming up.

Lets keep our fingers crossed, this will all look good to NBC for negoations.

Thanks Toups. Much Appreciated.

I don't watch Y&R but its amazing even when Y&R drops they still remain the number one soap, that pretty amazing.

I am not liking DAYS at the moment , but I guess congrats on them for not falling in the ratings and staying stable and steadily buy SLOWLY climbing in the ratings, and not going below a 2.6!

    • Because you are posting these things like they are true facts.  And they aren't. But whatever, Donna, you will just keep doing you.   Most people actually are trying to talk about GH in this thread.  Not random twitter/facebook/internet rumors you bring here.  I am just wasting my time even responding.
    • This is a common theme with long running actors and preposterous storylines. Firstly they may relish the chance to play something different after years as that charcter. Secondly, no matter how dumb the plot it keeps them frontburner and valued to the show and the audience. Thirdly, as VW stated in the end they don't have the power to dictate story and too much complaining can backfire and set them up in a negative light. Not a good position to be in with your employers. So they just buckle up and give it their all or act out the script till it's over.
    • Your use of the word "apparently" would need to include a source. Just your use of the word doesn't make it true or valid. Where would you get the idea that something has happened if you hadn't already received an indication from somewhere else, specifically a valid source (including Tabyana herself)? By using the word "apparently," you are implying this was mentioned somewhere, either in a publication or similar.
    • I think Hotel would have the similar demos as Dynasty W 19-49 would have been strong. St Elsewhere survived b/c it attracted wealthier/urban viewers and The Equalizer was probably stronger with men and younger viewers. So each had their own niche-good counter-programming. As for Aaron Spelling's influence over ABC in terms of scheduling, I don't know if he would have been happy with Charlie's Angels moving to Sunday, The Colbys scheduled on Thursdays or Matt Houston moved to Fridays. I think he just had to roll with the punches.
    • Thank you @Broderick. That information was so helpful. I watched the first episode of the "Mansion of the Damned" storyline. I was extremely confused by Margaret Colin's Paige and her relationship to other characters. Your post helps me understand what's happening. The rest of the show was easy to understand and I'm enjoying it. Hunter's Nola is a good character for me since I know Kim Hunter from other work.  I must have seen clips of Edge of Night before because I remember seeing April.
    • How is it back tracking when it was in fact the word I originally used? It's not.
    • You know what is a great way to stop these unclear "rumors"?  Just stop posting them and then back tracking with words like "apparently".   Anyhow, I didn't find the Tracy/Lois scenes as good as I hoped.
    • Jason, in thinking this over, I realize that we look at this space, differently. To me it is a potentially collaborative space. Now that I've realized this, what I should have said, "I'm having a problem because what I'm seeing is not matching up with your descriptions. Maybe these files I just got are misdated. Maybe it's something else. I will keep you posted. Meanwhile this episode, its edit, is ready, even though I might have to issue a corrected date later. But, people can enjoy the performances now.
    • Thank you for the constructive suggestion.
