That article quotes the website of the CDC (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention),
specifically the CDC Division of Adolescent and School Health, for definitions of sex and gender.
However, sadly, Trump is in process of dismantling the CDC, and I think a lot of that website will disappear or be drastically changed.

During Trump's prior term as president, he dismantled the website of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) --  and the info was saved *only* because conscientious people saved the data when they saw what was happening.  The ecological data was restored to the EPA website when Biden became president.

In the past two days, Trump has already issued a freeze on communications from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the NIH (National Institutes of Health), so I'm sure the CDC website is next.

This man is targeting us as a group so hardcore... We are like Enemy Number 1 on Week 1. And... I'm not going to let him win and destroy my mental health, because that's what he wants. We'll still be here when he is long forgotten. And thanks to people like Bishop Budde, our voices are not going to be silenced (at least we'll make it harder for him to do it).

Absolute dictatorship! And some people CHOSE that.

Also with RFK Jr. as the new head of the Dept. of Health ... He's a known anti-vaxxer.
So between RFK Jr and Trump, we simply won't get reliable information from the CDC and NIH anymore.
They apparently don't care if everyone dies in the next pandemic, because there will be no agencies to communicate anything reliable.

Also Trump is ordering the USA to no longer fund the WHO (World Health Organization).
WHO is international and not run by the USA but it received money from the USA.

WHO would be one of the only agencies left to properly inform Americans of health crises, but it will be drastically defunded.  Well I guess Americans can turn to agencies in other countries for information

GLAAD condemns Trump administration for wiping LGBTQ and HIV-focused content

 https://www.aol.com/glaad-condemns-trump-administration-wiping-171453428.html?guccounter=1

The LGBTQ media advocacy organization GLAAD expressed its dismay that nearly all LGBTQ and HIV-focused content and resources have been removed from the White House website following the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

The organization also noted the removal of LGBTQ-specific pages from the Centers for Disease Control, the Department of State, and other government agencies.

“President Trump claims to be a strong proponent of freedom of speech, yet he is clearly committed to censorship of any information containing or related to LGBTQ Americans and issues that we face,” said GLAAD President Sarah Kate Ellis. “This action proves the Trump administration’s goal of making it as difficult as possible for LGBTQ Americans to find federal resources or otherwise see ourselves reflected under his presidency. Sadly for him, our community is more visible than ever; and this pathetic attempt to diminish and remove us will again prove unsuccessful.”

https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/celebrity/carrie-underwood-had-complaints-over-inauguration

I can see her getting backlash IF she compared herself to Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, but this is not a quote of her saying that. Instead it is some unknown "insider" saying she was unhappy about the circumstances of her performance & they bring up those two mega-stars. So, in a way, people remarking about this may not be clear that it is hearsay, which is unfair to Underwood.

1843, the fictional Ebenezer Scrooge in England
https://www.themorgan.org/collections/works/dickens/ChristmasCarol/9

The Republicans want to bring the USA backwards to such attitudes.

Except that the fictional ghosts were eventually, later in the story, able to open Scrooge's heart.
I don't think the Republicans are interested in opening their hearts.

Frankly, I don't, just because I never saw her appealing to anyone outside of MAGA anyway.  Carrie was more country than pop/rock, so I'm sure she'll be fine with that crowd.

I've pretty much decided to spend every cold/flu season from here on out "masking up" and maintaining social distances from everyone, as if we're still living under a pandemic.

All federal offices ordered to shutter their diversity offices.
Including NASA.

Remembering all the work of actress Nichelle Nichols (Uhura from the original Star Trek).
In real life, she worked with NASA to bring diverse astronauts into NASA.
(There's a movie about the work she did, called "Women in Motion".)
Sally Ride and Guion Bluford came in through this program.

That NASA diversity office, signed away with the stroke of the orange one's pen...

.

Federal employees ordered to dismantle their DEI offices.
If the DEI offices don't dismantle themselves, then the other employees in those agencies are supposed to report that it still exists, and you can get in trouble for not reporting.

WTF century is this?

Government agencies ordered to not honor Black History Month, Women's History Month, etc.

Orders against racial discrimination in federal contracting -- in place since Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s -- rescinded by the orange one's pen.

    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.
