Colorado Springs was long one of the reddest strongholds of the state, the playground of ghouls like Marilyn Musgrave and Ted Haggard. Jacksonville, Florida WAS the largest city run by a Republican. Pennsylvania also had a special election over who would maintain control of the state house. The Democrat won.
