AOC has made some early missteps (more like, verbal faux pas) but I said before and I say again, I intend to reserve judgement because when the work of actual governing begins, people often turn out to be more pragmatic than they may appear as candidates.

When HRC ran for the Senate, people made all types of judgements of who they thought she would be and I see some similarities, tbh in how Republicans viewed her.  In the end, HRC was quite pragmatic in her governing style, seeking to help decent legislation along that actually had a hope of passage.  Much to the NY state legislative opposition, she was not some raging harpy looking to burn everything down.

I'm going to go on ahead and guess that perhaps, just maybe AOC may want to pass an actual piece of legislation, rather than dig in her heels and not have anything meaningful to show for it legislatively, a la Bernie Sanders.

Her mistakes were more than verbal, like following Bernie's lead on stuff like Sharice Davids. But she's come a bit further since then and I was pleased she backed off blowing smoke against Pelosi. As I've said she can either rise high or burn herself out, but she has a huge spotlight now and a lot of opportunity. She is also the right's latest female/non-white boogeyman.

Ugh, I forgot about that one.

Fortunately, it seems that most women politicians tend to leave the petty behind, so I don't expect Sharice Davids to be carrying a grudge for twenty years like the GOP men who have gone after HRC year after year for decades.

Like I said, governing is different from campaigning and both Davids and Ocasio-Cortez are just starting their governing careers.

What kind of "steak" do they think inmates are having, exactly? And do they realize that inmates often have to pay for most of what they have? I'd love to see these hack journalists eating the "steak" that you get in prison.

The media in this country is disgusting. Many people on the left, the right, and in the middle know this. There's a reason why Trump's attacks on them resonate as much as they do.

When you put it that way, it's no wonder that people have tuned out of networks and onto Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.

I feel really good about the fact that I never bothered to watch The Apprentice and thanks to my inconsistency in watching SNL over decades, I thankfully only heard about his appearances on SNL.  Not even Lester Holt can get me to watch their evening news.

I remember watching clips of Matt Lauer's treatment of HRC during that town hall.  I think I could only stomach two debates because I didn't really care for most of the moderators in 2016.

If this is the case, I really don't know what there is for the networks to ponder.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.
