Although she was a "conservative", and I hate to use that term for a Supreme Court judge, I have the deepest respect for Sandra Day O'Connor. She fought to the death, in vain, to make the American public understand that the SCOTUS was not a political body. Her decisions were always based on her understanding of the Constitution and not the politics of the day. Judges like Scalia and Thomas constantly bring politics into the court and it just disgusts me and degrades what should be the most impartial apolitical institution we have.

Careful, never use the word "die" when talking about politicians. That's a good way to get the attention of the government. You know, the same one that created a hurricane to ruin the first night of the GOP convention and is cooking the BLS books for Obama. Area 51! Area 51!

I don't think Kerry's done anything that bad since he lost the Presidency. He remained in the Senate and has been doing a decent job, apparently, and seems to be effective enough as a surrogate for the Obama campaign.

W supposedly never really even wanted to be in politics and the whole reason he was was based on father issues. If so then that would be why he's happily walked away.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Registered voters' preferences for president are evenly split in the first three days of Gallup tracking since last Wednesday's presidential debate. In the three days prior to the debate, Barack Obama had a five-percentage-point edge among registered voters.

The Romney debate bump was to be expected no matter what but isn't stronger than good economic news and the fact is that the unemployment rate is below 8% and more people are feeling good about the economy. Well except for the people who are more concerned with seeing Obama fail than the country succeed. Those people are losing their [!@#$%^&*].

+1

It's shameful what's happened to the Court.

Thomas probably would, just not for himself. He has the money and power to make sure he'd be exempted. That's the "gift" of that type of conservatism - if I have the money to do anything I want, then I can make sure no one else does.

It tells you a lot about Scalia's influence that even Scott Brown, the self-professed moderate senator from Massachusetts, eagerly said he would support Scalia-like justices. This guy is so powerful within far right circles that even political death is worth risking in order to support him.

I can finally say it: he looked hot today  And Vaughn was looking pretty hot too. Just what I needed after a long, annoying day  And the rest of the episode was pretty good too, especially Tracy/Brook Lynn. Seriously, Jane elevates every episode that she's in. She works so well with everybody. I was also impressed by Amanda Setton as well I also liked Rocco's nervousness/nerdiness at the party as well. It felt very real, and a little familiar too  Hope he ends up being ok.
    • Fortunately she's got probably a good bit in the can already!!! LOL! I saw this item earlier in the day. I guess she was not on contract. I put this under spoiler space for you.
    • I just read that Alice Halsey, the new young Rachel, has just landed the role of Laura Ingalls on the Netflix reboot of Little House on The Prairie. https://deadline.com/2025/05/little-house-on-the-prairie-laura-ingalls-cast-alice-halsey-1236383465/ Soooo...I don't see her remaining on Days for too long.
    • Jason, can you give me those dates, pretty please? If so, I'll do an edit of her. She was such a delight.
    • Sure, babe. I found those once when I was desperately searching for an Alexandra Spaulding dinner party date & I literally struck out everywhere else. We should throw a cyber party & invite Matt Smith & ChickenNuggetz* & whoever helps them with the Vault & Jason47 & Eddie Drueding ...
    • My late mom remembered Jordan Clarke as Tim Ryan.. and she said he was vastly different than Billy.  She also said she remembered that Rita and Evie were more tangled up with Tim when both came on the show.. while he ended up leaving with another character.   Then Rita was moved into the Ed/Holly orbit taking on the scheming traits of Holly (this was around the time of the original Holly leaving), and Evie got pulled into Ben's orbit.. but not sure if this was during his brief relationship with Hope or not.
    • Not Doug acting like people felt Dani might act during this Ted reveal.   Awww an Andre/Eva scene.    Oooo Silk Press Sheila and her crazy woman music.    MMmmmm...multiple cliffhangers!!!! Kat vs Eva. Nicole vs Ted.    Awww hell no!!! Not Silk Press Sheila confronting the Duprees. Anita might eat her alive. lol. And I was never so glad as to not see them. I was already annoyed at Vanessa/Doug interrupting the action. I actually might have felt a way about seeing them. For once. lol. I do think they were edited out though.   I mean...it's kinda hard NOT to look so      Ooooo I didn't think about that.
    • Rest in peace, Ruth Buzzi! Laugh In was before my time, but from the clips I have come across on YouTube, she was a very funny lady. Prayers to her loved ones.
