December 7, 200817 yr Member I know I always thought Alexa Havins LOOKED like Britney, but yeah.. SID is hilarious sometimes. I'll admit I used to have a subscription to it, and sometimes I buy it at the store. I like the emphasis on ABC soaps, compared to SOW/SOD who has a lot of material I skip on shows I don't know. But SID's covers are ridiculous at times... Nobody ever dies anyway... lol
December 8, 200817 yr Member I'd personally like to thank the original poster and Angela for giving me the biggest laugh I've had in awhile. Those SID covers are so ridiculous, I can't believe it. Combine that with Eric Braeden being on every cover of SOD, and I wonder what goes through their minds.
December 8, 200817 yr Member Mark, it was same old same old for us who've seen so many of Guza's shootouts montages. It's nothing new to us. It's the same [!@#$%^&*] over and over. WORD!
December 8, 200817 yr Author Member I think they put those who will die covers up when they're in contract negotiations with the actors. Those same actors are in contract negotiations every month?

December 8, 200817 yr Member haha, seen 1, seen them all. GH is ALWAYS having some type of shoot out I guess I kind of knew that...but watching with fresh eyes (because I probably watch GH the most infrequently...GH and Days)...I hadn't seen one of these shootouts since Guza first returned to GH years ago, and he did some kind of "bomb" thing at a bar Luke ran...anyway, this was technically rivetting. But I agree--if I had to watch this weekly or monthly or quarterly or whatever, I'd be bored to tears.
December 8, 200817 yr Member I don't buy these never have. only good for me when I'm standing in line good checkout reading material Do the police ever fire their guns on this show? or is it stil only the mob in shootouts.

First of all, it has the best dialogue writers in Daytime (featuring the fantastic Karen Harris). Secondly, its editing and direction for those action-based set-pieces are always second-to-none. Considering what they have to work with (in studio terms), directors Owen Renfroe and Scott McKinsey are miracle-workers. Guza only has to think it up and they produce it. However, they are so proficient that they make Mumbles and Borg (Sonny & Jason) look like sainted heroes in these scenes. And that turns my stomach. Case in point: February 28, 2005. Which also happened to be Good Friday. GH's exquisitely-produced shoot-out in a baroque church. Note how Jason shooting two guns at once is mirrored by the illuminated Christ statue behind him. Cinematic production values but... it was kinda repulsive and repetitive even back then.
December 8, 200817 yr Member Okay, now I really understand the redundancy complaint. He did that two gun thing again Friday. 'Nuff said! (There was no Christ in the background...just another baby in jeopardy).
