I'm not roped back into Days yet, but I figure the reason for its upsurge is the element of mystery and suspense - I don't know who killed Trent, I don't know whether EJ will marry Nicole or Sami, I don't know if Kate will live (it seems implausible that they would kill her off to me, but lung cancer doesn't have a high recovery rate). Watching the show day to day, the boredom should make one not care either way about any of these outcomes, but the mere fact of not knowing seems to be addictive enough to get people tuning back to see the revelation. Nevermind the fact that DOOL has lacked suspense since Langan took over in 1999 - most soaps lack that today. I won't say kudos to Higley and co. just yet because if they milk it past its sell by date, people will tune out again.

you will be very shocked by who is Trent's killer, when I read that spoiler, I kind of gave kudos to Higley and company...

so happy AMC and OLTL beat GH

Well, as Melanie fan I have to mention the demos upsurge is in totall sync with her getting upfront of the Trent murder mystery. She is just delightfull to watch and she is able to turn even boring generic repeated interrogation scene into a huge entertainent.

I don't think its just Melanie, I think the whole crew of EJ/Sami/Nicole/Nick/Chelsea/Phillip/Max, etc...have bringing the viewers back...it does help that DOOL is brining the suspense back.

GH really is just going back to normal at an inopportune time, lol. I think the Kate shooting gave them a bump and Laura's return?

Tornado bump (to be filled in when Toups gives us ratings). AMC probably got a 2.1 or 2.2?

Never say never. lol

It would be a miracle if that happens though. GL just need this big event. I doubt they have the money to pull it off but it would be nice if Bloom helped them out. Ellen just needs to go or just start doing her job. Its like she's sleeping at GL. Today I was watching and I couldn't help but to LOL at the hospital. That hospital looked like some old junk. I was like wtf is that?!

If they moved GL back to it's 3 p.m. timeslot in key markets and started using good cameras again. Maybe CBS could just try it for a month, a big event, old cameras, old timeslot. If it works keep it going. GL did pretty well when they had their 3 p.m. timeslot, they'd rise from time to time to give competition.

Can't do the ratings now, but here is some info.

AMC is now ABC's most watched soap and GH is last. Yes, both OLTL and AMC beat GH in Total Viewers. :D

So Chuckie P took down Bobby G already! LOL

thanks Toups... That information made my day

I'm very happy for AMC. I'm glad to see a show with modern sensibilities (black people, lesbians. interracial romance, the Iraq war) do well even if it's just for this week. I'm not on board with everything Pratt's doing - not by a long shot - but I can support his vision more than Frons'. It looks like Frons is keeping his hooked talons off AMC for now (with a few notable exceptions.) but who knows how long that will last?

I'm guessing OLTL is still holding at 1.9 but I long for the day it hits a new low.

I think OLTL is going to be the number one soap ABC for the week of 11/10 barring GH gets some life support and I'm one who thoroughly thinks what they're going to do next week is without warrant and disgusting. That aside, 11/10 reads really, really "bang, bang, bang!" the same or better than the 10/20 week read for AMC (which completely disappointed me in translation, 200+ up and I still maintain that as promised). GH is still reading pretty meh. Put in a good commercial with them atleast half-a** trying to promote it and I think OLTL is going to have a pretty good week.
