For the 39th anniversary of the primetime premiere of Capitol I thought it would be fun to revisit the TV Guide artwork for the CBS ad.   In comparison to Photoshop work in modern ads, this looks like hieroglyphics.  But, here's challenge: If this was the cover of a novelization of the script of Capitol who do you think they were trying to depict?

I'm going with Tyler and Julie as the central couple, Sam & Myrna in the upper left, and Mark & Paula in the upper right.  The woman running in sunglasses (and Ice skates?) may have been Clarissa (in the premiere scene where she is almost run over by Trey's limo while jogging)  And the woman in the bottom right would be Sloane (if she was played by Susan Keith).

Awful drawings, I’m drawing a total loss besides Tyler and Julie in the center. I will agree with you that upper right seems most like Mark and Paula, and Paula’s actual debut was months to come. She was just the mysterious unseen agoraphobe up in her suite playing her harpsichord in the pilot movie.

I was at a Maryland amusement park as a child in the eighties, and in one of the gift shops there was a large kiosk full of these for a variety of soaps. I’d love to read them, but at sixty bucks a pop, I’ll have to wait for a better deal.

Now here's the 64,000 Question:

Who was The Best Myrna and where I can find some video proof in English (Italian is just not my best language)

Carolyn Jones (Morticia Adams) (1982-83)

Marla Adams (Belle Clemens and Dina Abbott Mergeron) (1983)

Or Marj Dusay (Pamela Capwell Conrad, Alexandra Spaulding and Vanessa Bennett) (1983-87)

No, I was just commenting on the drawing’s appearance.

Here’s a brief glimpse of Carolyn’s Myrna in English. I posted this on YouTube some years ago, it’s from her A&E Biography. The episode is from the first week of the show, Tyler’s hero’s welcome home reception. At the time, that was the largest set ever built for daytime.

This one I already saw kinda made me cry but thanks for trying to help me, Capitol is pretty hard to find especially the early episodes I was really curious on Carolyn or Marla as Myrna as my search give results only for Marj

By the way did you like the link I sent? I've forgotten about Lara Parker being on Capitol

    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada for her to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
