Randi is a SECRETARY who was just hired, and is still scared of her creepy pimp and of people in little ol' Pine Valley recognizing her as a prostitute and it backlashing on Fusion and herself. I don't get why any of you guys seem to think she should be the face of fusion and actually I wouldn't mind if we're allowed to have a character who's just a secretary without much money (though you wouldn't guess it by seeing how she dresses...) for once. Maybe I'm just flashing back too storngly to skanky Ava becoming an instant super model.

I agree with most of the positive thoughts. I think I'm SLIGHTLY mixed on the new pace--sometimes I feel that it can be a bit off--with some scenes not moving at all from cut to cut and others havign characters in brand new places--it can throw me a bit (god I sound slow)--also sometimes we miss things I wonder about--on Friday why show Opal pouring the mixture into her coffee and then show her recovering from it--but none of the (I assume classic Opal comic) effects of it?? ANd it does have me worried if so much of the pacing is little short scenes *all the time* that I'll miss some of the longer drawn out classic soap scenes--that we get less of anyway.

All that said, I'm largely won over by it and enjoying the show.

I thought COlby was gonna have some big drunk scene at the party--but I guess not. Pratt does seem to have moved on from all that... And yeah--Petey deserves contract--surely though the sometimes clueless heads at AMC realize that he's working well on the show.

Oh I wasn't nominating Randi to be the face of Fusion, I was nominating her to be the one to tell Babe and Amanda that they're rich hypocrites and to STFU.

And while Randi may be a secretary, I noticed they were very careful in the script not to label Randi's job title, and I'm sure she'll be considered a shareholder and involved in pitch meetings by February, if not sooner. Amanda kept using vague titles like "Fusion team member" or some nonsense like that, when urging Randi to work the room.

And why should she worry about Pine Valleyites recognizing her as a prostitute, since it would only make sense for them to recognize her if they went to her for her services... meaning she has just as much dirt on them. I would like to spearhead a movement for hooker empowerment, starting right now.

I think you missed the point. She's worried about the scandal it would cause for Fusion. If she becomes the face of their new campaign, it might tarnish the company's image by hiring a prostitute to represent them. Randi wouldnt know who outed her as this would be in the tabloids and media. She'd lose her job and ruin her chances at starting fresh bc not many would hire her in town, at least not with the negative buzz around her

Cheap answered your question for me. Someone could go to the media and without revealing who they were even drop the information--so Randi couldn't blackmail them even if she wanted.

David sadly I bet you're right abotu Randi becomign a shareholder at Fusion--I mis read what you wrote and just meant I liked her not beign a huge instant star.
